We visited twice in four days - it's a nice spot for lunch and drinks with friendly bar staff. The menu is a bit limited but was good/reasonable price. Worth a visit.

Such a ripper spot. Great choice of ambience. Great selection of drinks. The chilli 🌶 puckles and the pepper pork belly bites were unreal.
I when last Sunday, 10th September, for a drink and some food. I ordered a cider and the chicken burger, aioli and slaw served with chips, the cider was good. The chicken burger was another story… Firstly I looked twice for the chicken the piece...was very small, no much of the slaw either, the burger was served with some overcooked chips… Very disappointing.More
Really, REALLY bugs me when a place has shed loads of poor reviews about service … sort it out!!! Pointless management replying to reviews and not actually training your staff. On a business trip to Perth, came here for breakfast. I really enjoyed the food,...the croque madam was a little different but I was a big fan. My colleagues were happy with theirs. Room temp coffee (seems to be a Perth thing though…) Waited ages to pay, the waitress was a little rude, getting snappy when we asked to split the bill (due to business expenses - but why would three adults not split the bill) then even snappier when we realised we were short as she’d misunderstood the total I’d paid, practically glared at me, saying “I did repeat it to you” yes I realise that but we clearly got 13 and 30 mixed up between accents, just suck it up smile and apologise, you’re in service and you can’t always be right. I mean use your brain anyway, none of your dishes are under $13 …More
Wine Merchant for a Light Dinner I neglected to book a table for Petition so settled for Wine Merchant next door. I started with a negroni and some sensational entrees. Skipped main, so straight to dessert of house-made truffles and a delicious chilled glass of...PX. Fabulous service and a cosy atmosphere made for a very pleasant evening.More
Really beautiful breakfast food, decent coffee in a nice setting, however the attitude of some of the service staff was surprisingly poor. the staff serving us were rather impatient (clearing plates without asking if we were done) and quite defensive (not seeing the sign that...said no cash accepted, we asked once if we could pay by cash, the staff curtly replied no and “also it’s already written very clearly in the front of the counter”). Pretty disappointing experience given the really good ratings of this place. We hope it’s a once-off.More
My wife and I came for breakfast. Rather busy. We were hungry and tried a variety of dishes, with eggs and meat and veggies. Plenty of food.
Great breakfast here, the building and atmosphere is one that we love with the old wooden floors and exposed concrete. Only downside is the habit of seating everyone right next to each other despite all the empty space.
I love Petition. I go a few times a year and every time it's a great experience - great food and great service. I just went again for a birthday celebration and, although disappointingly the menu has changed from interesting fusion style to a more...standard French bistro style the food that came to the table, octopus and tuna starters and the Riverina Beef sirloin main meal, were manifique!! The waiters had great personality and added to the fun and memorable experience. Thanks again Petition team.More
Large indoor dining area with an open kitchen. Dinner menu was either A La Carte or a Chef's selection for $85 per person where you got to choose one dish. We chose from the A La Carte menu that had an interesting and appealing selection...of seven small dishes, four medium (called Comestibles) sized dishes, four substantial dishes and three sides. We shared from the small dishes the tempura zucchini flowers with feta and the swordfish cerviche. Our medium sized dish was the watermelon with mint, feta, Thai basil and pomegranate molasses and our main was the chicken breast with squash accompanied by rocket salad side. We enjoyed all of these dishes. At breakfast we had the smashed avocado with feta and cherry tomatoes on gluten free toast and some sourdough toast with bacon (which I though was a little light on). Coffee was good. Service at both dinner and breakfast was friendly and efficient. Wine and cocktail list was reasonably extensive.More
Nice spot for breakfast, staff very friendly and helpful, and great service all round. I was surprised on the limited options when it comes to sides to choose on the breakfast menu, no mushrooms or salmon to include with your eggs, disapointing! The Avo on...toast, with some poached eggs added, was delish! very nice! But you lost a star due to the limited sides to choose from! Nice coffee, quiet, warm and relaxed spot for a feed.More
Ate here for breakfast and wasn't disappointed. Service was friendly and efficient, the Huevos Ranchero's with crispy eggs were filling - the eggs a surprise as they looked breaded and fried but were still soft inside whilst the poached eggs on the hot smoked salmon...with hollandaise were cooked perfectly. The menu is seasonal and changes which makes it a great place to eat at.More
We googled before we left home, the best breakfast in Perth CBD which resulted in this establishment so we booked it. My husband’s smoked salmon eggs Bennie were the worst he’s ever had because it was cold, eggs were uncooked and it was tasteless. The...spinach was cold, wet and soggy. My croque madam was nothing like croque madams I have had in the past and it was tough and the ham was chewy and stringy and lacking in taste.we were really disappointed and wouldn’t recommend. Service was good but that was it.More
Went last night (Saturday) to celebrate two birthdays. Right from the start at entering it was wonderful. We were a little early so went next door to the fabulous Wine Merchant for a pre. Service was impeccable. The young girl that served us was just...delightful and the ambiance fantastic. We headed into Petition for dinner. Service from our waiter, from France was perfect. We chose the $85 chefs selection and the food kept flowing. There was not one thing we couldn’t fault. It was all perfect. Thank you so much. We will definitely be back. 👍🏻More
Arrived in Perth Sunday after a 19 hour flight from the UK, freshened up in the hotel and went for a wander trying to find somewhere for dinner and stumbled across this place. It’s set in a lovely old building and the food and service...was top notch. The restaurant had a lovely vibe, and service was excellent. Would recommend.More
