I celebrated my birthday with 8 of my friends here for lunch. We did the chef feed me menu. Amazing food with generous & varied dishes. Good service. Would highly recommend this restaurant for a celebratory meal

Spent a luxury staycation at the Como Treasury and had dinner at the Petition Kitchen on the Saturday. The service was top drawer and the food to die for. Our waitress Luna from Italy provided great advice and her wine selection was first class. She...choose a wine from her home town region and what a delight. I justed wanted the Pork and Potatoes but had to share. Simon (Waiter) recommended the Mushrooms and Kingfish which were fantastic but it should always be about the meat. I finished with the Pork and Potatoes, just the best. Thanks Chef (also a Simon).More

My first post covid trip to Perth and pretty happy to revisit this place. And it did not disappoint. Perky Irish Simon was just adorable. Smiley, chatty, attentive. My friend LOVED the kingfish, so if that's your bag, consider it recommended. I prefer red meats....The cauliflower was pretty amazing. The beef cheek was my hero, although for someone who doesn't normally order fish, the market fish was incredible, salty and delicious. All round, pretty great.More

All food ordered was delicious, if anything servings were on the large side. Coffee excellent and temperature perfect. Service staff professional and courteous. Prices reasonable for the most expensive hotel in Perth.

After multiple visits here and dinner tonight, I'm in two minds On the one hand the flavours are clean, pure and original with occasionally stunning presentations such as the raw beef salad with radish, nasturtium leaves and plantain chips the vehicle. Good, sometimes great food....On the other hand: 1. Wine markups are frankly unethical - conduct an exercise - pick a selection of wines by the bottle and check the retail price then work out the markup for a casual eatery with multiple sittings, slow service due to packing the space to extremes (the waitstaff are great but are hampered by the managements push for maximum turnover). Solution: consider an ethical approach to wine markups rather than the likely "lets capitalise on the COVID surge in local demand". There is a clear trend in Perth, in my view, to sell relatively inexpensive wine with huge markups and PR jargon at "wine bars" or bistro-like spaces where the "disguise" of the food (often good) and the creation of inaccessibility (Vincent wine is another example of this phenomena) is the lure, sometimes with a no bookings policy or "multiple seatings" therefore difficult to get in), brings in the bucks 2. The table for 6 we were allocated was so close to the podium at the entrance (again squeezed in for profit rather than a consideration of the diners comfort and experience in this beautiful heritage building) that we were always aware of groups queueing, coming and going, payments being made at arms length etc - unpleasant, particularly if facing the entrance (solution:scrap it) 3. Specifically, the Cotes du Rhone flogged as a special because a percentage goes to disaster relief, still leaves a generous profit margin for the company, completely undermining its own sales pitch Do we aim high enough in Perth? Or are there so few really good eateries that we settle for second best?More
