A really nice meal. Very expensive but we chose the matching wines which hikes the price up. All the wait staff are asian except for the owner and his wife - and the owner kind of hangs around and tells a few stories, which is...ok but not really our preference. The cooking is modern and delicious - the setting is old fashioned. This makes it a bit of a confused experience. Overall enjoyable but for the price. I'm not sure we would return. There are modern restaurants with similar pricing options we would choose first.More

Three of our staff are Australian. One other, Belle, wants to gain citizenship. Belle is a fantastic worker who has a great work ethic and all of them have tolerance.

I went based on the reviews and while not perfect, does get five stars. When I got there, was a little worried. The ambience is a little too old school, maybe even tired. My entree, the spatchcock, was also good but nothing to write home...about. My main, a veal porterhouse, was incredible. Cooked perfectly, tender, nice size, just could not be better. The side tomato salad was also very good. Finished with a nice Comte that included some (good) interesting accompaniments. Service was also excellent. Much more personable than I expected given the formality of the ambience.More

Thank you Clyde, Leslie and the Entire Team at FRIENDS for a most memorable Sunday afternoon. Due to covid restrictions, it was third time lucky for us to be finally entertained by Russell Morris, Brian Cadd and the band while dining at FRIENDS. We were...greeted at the door with the offer of a drink. We sat and chattered with other patrons before being shown to our table. What followed was beyond our expectations ... a 3 Course Meal that was Absolutely Delicious and a Show that was just simply Brilliant. Thank You All Again. PS. We've already booked for another show in June.More

How this place hasn’t won a hat is beyond me! Incredible food and even better service, the pre dessert and pre mains were as awesome as the main dishes!

Having eating at some of the best restaurants in Australia (I’m from Melbourne) I was utterly disappointed with the majority of the dishes (with exception of the dessert) on the Decadent Degustation menu. Not only was the food unseasoned (where was the salt on the...white rocks veal and wagyu?) the flavour combinations were just odd. The lobster tasted frozen and chewy with no flavour. An utter disappointment. The interior; what can I say, a mismatch of furniture and the bar down below had a Bali bogan feel. For the price you are paying for the Decadent Degustation menu I’d expect so much more. Such a shame as the original location in Hyatt was great.More

This was our third time dinning at Friends restaurant and they made it very apparent to why we continue to return. My partner and I came to celebrate our anniversary this time and we couldn't of picked a better place to do so. Upon entry...to the amazing establishment you are greeted by a lovely hostess who makes you feel welcomed as if you are walking into a best friends home. Accompanying the lovely staff who greet you , you are greeted by the most amazing aromas of all sorts of the best foods money can buy. Since we have dinned here previously ,straight away we noticed that both owners were once again there working away. We came for the best option on their menu again , the 8 courses degustation menu with wine pairing. We were seated at a lovely corner table in the rear of the restaurant that felt quite private in a fairly open place . Shortly after being seated (which by the way they do in typical French service style pulling out the chairs for the lady and placing our serviettes on our laps) we were greeted by our amazing sever Belle or as some may know her "Ricky ". Upon greeting us and getting us both a lovely cocktail Belle made it clear why we continue to return to Friends. Compliments left right and centre , non stop laughter and knowledge beyond belief are some of a few of the amazing quality's she posses. Then comes the first course paired with an amazing glass of champagne. The knowledge of wines the entire staff has is the best I've ever seen (and this is coming from someone who's worked fine dinning for many years myself ). The ability to describe the flavour notes , where the wine is from and to explain why its been chosen as a paring is amazing. Throughout our night , Belle continued to makes us laugh and really make us feel like one of our best friends was taking care of us. Not only Belle but the other staff in the restaurant continued to make their rounds seeing if we needed anything and to make sure everything was perfect (which it was ) . Now I could go on and on about how great the quality of the ingredients are or how amazing the presentation was but this review would be 5 pages long . The main reason we love Friends is their staff and let me begin by saying it's amazing to see both owners their working along side everyone . When we finally made it to the 8th course Clyde came and joined us after a beautiful presentation of the desert. He sat with us for a good 15 minutes , making us laugh , sharing wine knowledge and telling us story's about his life and journey's. This is the reason we continue to come back and make sure we celebrate the most special occasions with you all. Thank you all for another unforgettable night and Clyde I look forward to seeing your newest timepiece once it arrives ! -Myk and Kirsty xxMore

Booking was hassle free and the receptionist even advise me which is the best and cheapest carpark. The entire meal was simply delicious. The starter was complimentary and it was melting in your mouth moment. Then our zucchini soup and a spatchcock arrived, another culinary...experience for our taste buds. Our main was steak, and once again perfectly cooked. Sadly we could not stay for desert as my wife got an urgent call for work to clear last minute invoice for a mining approval. Revisit again? Yes, it was an amazing date night for us. Thank you to staff at FriendsMore

Friends is our favourite fine dining establishment in Perth. Food and service is of the highest calibre and the wine list is unparalleled.

Friends is an old Perth favorite and doesn't disappoint even allowing for the current covid restrictions. Waitstaff were very professional and Bella had a wicked sense of humor, which really made the night. If you can stretch to some of the more specialist wines it's...really worth the effort as they're very keenly priced compared to what you'd pay over east and really lift the experience to the next level. Will definitely be back 😊More

We chose Friends because of the outstanding reviews of service, however it was not our experience tonight at all. Service was icy cold. No explanation of the menus or food when we arrived, just instructed to choose which menu we wanted. We had to ask...for a non alcoholic drinks menu, we were only given the wine list. $185pp for dinner and not a single word was spoken when each course was brought out, just plonked in front of us and we’d been left with a menu to follow along. There was also no communication when plates were cleared. Plates simply disappeared, apart from being asked twice if we wanted another drink. Nothing about the food, nothing friendly at all. We sat with empty side plates and a butter dish for five courses before anyone bothered to clear them. There are so many excellent places in Perth now with such passion for their food and produce, but this service was truly pub style with no talking about the food at all. Two people served us during dinner but a third served dessert and she was lovely, so we caught a glimpse of what others have experienced. At the end of the meal we weren’t asked how our meal was, and had to ask two people for the bill. Paying was also cold as ice, not even a thank you for coming. Unfortunately the food was only just good and did not compensate for the service. So disappointing.More
