About
HKBBQ was opened in 1997, located on Francis street in Northbridge, and is one of the proven top Chinese restaurant in Perth. We are well-known for our BBQ pork and roast duck. Seafood such as live Lobster or Snow crab from the tank are also the specialty of the House that we are proud of. In order to provide better dinning environment and to serve more customers, we had renovated in 2009 with a second floor extention. Second level has six big tables that can fit 70 people which is perfect for private function or party dinner. Please contact us to discuss your need or make a booking.

This is a must when I'm in Perth. I now only order one dish and that's the bbq pork and rice. That mixed with the chilli oil is the gold that this restaurants produces. I've tried many other meals but this is the secret to their success.
The beers are icy cold and well priced and meals are extremely tasty.

It has been a while since I had HKBBQ so decided to have a mid week work lunch. We headed off and did a work takeaway pickup of some Barbeque Pork and Rice packs.
Mmmmmmm. Definitely had missed this. It was so delicious. Make sure you put the chilli oil over your rice. It's a must have.

This visit was long overdue. What can I say apart from what I always say. Their best meal is the Pork and Rice mixed with some chilli oil and freshly cut chilli.Â
This is our favourite for a reason. No other meal beats it especially when it's served with an ice cold beer. What a fabulous place and always in my top favourite restaurants

Wanted to check out Chinese food after a whole week of western food. Came across this on the google map. I was expecting Cantonese food. Fried rice was decent but it was not Yangzhou fried rice. Charsiew and siewyork were served hot(?) with watery sauce. Tasted good but was presented strangely, perhaps locals like to eat meat hot(?) kailan was disappointing, probably couldn’t get hold of hongkong kailan. I would say it’s decent westernized asian food in Perth but not Cantonese.

Came here for lunch and we ordered the wonton noodle soup and the scallop noodle soup. Also a small 4 combination of roast duck chicken char siu and siew yoke.
The roast pork was crispy and definitely the best option followed by the roast duck. The char siu was cut into slices which were too thick and tasted dry as a result.
The soya chicken was average. Noodle soup was a bit salty

Byo is $5 per glass, which is ridiculous. Bill was over, $150 for 4, and was charged for takeaway containers. Waitresses were abrupt, and so were the owners. 1st and last time we would go there. Nothing spectacular about the food.

Never again!!!
We had booked a table for Chinese New Year dinner. Table was not ready until 30 min late. After more than an hour, random dishes arrived. Poor quality, rude staff and slow service.
Overpriced.
I regret going to this restaurant. It will never happen again

Its been a while since my last visit but I want disappointed. My order was known before I walked in the door - Barbeque pork & rice. There was a slight change though. It was now served with some greens (which I really didn't want).
Maybe next time I'll request for it not to be included. Nice meal once again.

Pork, rice, duck fat & chilli oil, takeaway. Grab yourself a double meat for bbq pork and roast pork. A seriously amazing fulfilling meal.

Used to be my husband’s favourite place for a good roast dinner but after tonight, we won’t ever be returning.
Roast duck and BBQ pork were super dry and hard, clearly resembles the quality of meat that’s been reheated several times. Owner lady insisted it’s always been that quality and no offer of any options nor apology until we ask if they are going to offer any options, ended up returning the 2 dishes. Hot & sour soup was really sour, sizzling Japanese tofu had such burnt egg underneath which tasted so bitter. Peking spare ribs was the only right dish for the evening.
We observed every single table getting serviced with a plate of fruit at the end of the meal except for us (since we returned the 2 dishes?).
Upon paying bills at the counter, I had the evil eye stares from every single person behind the counter which was absolutely disgusting form of service. The staff with the chef hat (possibly the owner too?) even shouted out to other staff in Chinese in an unfriendly manner “have they paid already?”… even though I stopped right in front of the counter waiting for a staff to show me our bill.
To top off the horrendous experience, my husband even witnessed a kitchen staff WITH gloves on, walking from the kitchen to the toilet, trying to avoid touching the door while wearing gloves. Absolutely poor standard of hygiene!!
I am afraid you’ll have to go and dine at your own risk.

Past by saw the tempting ducks hanging by the window of this restaurant during lunch time.although is not crowded,easy got a table.
Menu was mix of single order noodle or rice.Or normal sharing meal with plenty of dishes from soup, appetizers to main dish.
Have try the mix meat with noodle (4 type,soya chk, roast duck,char siew and roast pork).braised beef noodle soup.Portion was huge and meat too.
Staff was friendly too and the place was clean .

I’ve been patronising this place since 2016 as a tourist. One of my favourite restaurant for Chinese food and will eat here 2 to 3 times during my trip. However after covid, the standard has dropped tremendously.

We were looking for authentic Chinese style food for an early dinner when we stumbled upon this place. It looked pretty empty but then we noticed a police officer ordering takeaway, so we gave it a crack. We shouldn't have worried as before long it was packed and many of the customers were clearly regulars.
The service was great and the young lady the served us was very helpful in assisting us with our ordering. The food was superb and as good as we have had since our last trip to Hong Kong. Drinks were very well priced too. Highly recommended.

Ordered the food via Deliveroo due to a craving for familiar tastes, and Hong Kong BBQ certainly did not disappoint! very decent HKG fare, and the chilli is truly authentic! a must visit when you need a Hong Kong food fix in Perth.

If you would like to wait 2 hours for your food and be ignored by staff who dismiss your questions about when your food will be served... this is the place for you...
Can’t review the food as didn’t get any.. we told them not to bother as they still hadn’t cooked our food while people their culture were getting served.. so disappointed
