With an early afternoon flight, we had a lovely brunch at the cafe. The breakfast menu runs until 11.30, after which the lunch menu is available. As it was around 11 we ordered from the breakfast menu. It was super busy, but we found a table inside. They mentioned there was about a 30 minute wait, which was Ok with us. It was good to be informed of a delay - this simple communication can prevent unhappy customers. The staff were working together well to maintain a smooth operation. We had a mango smoothie, big breakfast and a breakfast burrito. All were winners. Recommend.

We visited during the second week of the school holidays. I booked in advance for brunch knowing that Broome was busy. Our table was waiting (bonus points), but when I asked the gentleman behind the counter if it was indeed our table, he told me I'd have to wait (there was a queue) and he was a bit grumpy about it. We ordered from the eye-candy French guy at the counter and despite being busy our meals arrived without too much delay (another bonus point). I was impressed that they were able to cater a little to my likes (e.g. Can you remove the feta? Can we have chocolate ice-cream with the pancakes rather than vanilla please to keep the 7-year old happy?). The wait staff were efficient and friendly. The meal was very enjoyable so we decided to go back. It seems that everything in Broome closes at 2pm. I tried ringing ahead from just before 1pm multiple times but there was no answer. We arrived at 1.50pm and the same gentleman wasn't too happy about it. He reluctantly agreed to serve us as the last people for the day, but we didn't feel that welcome. The lunch menu is somewhat limited compared to the breakfast menu and as we were hoping for a bit more variety rather than hamburgers or nuggets for the kids, we decided to go elsewhere. I did ask why close when there were obviously more customers about (we weren't the only ones looking), but the answer was that they needed a rest. Another lovely staff member gave us a suggestion as to where to go to find something that was actually open and we went there instead. I understand that things are busy and staff are limited, but if it was my business I'd be staying open while the patronage was there, especially knowing that the wet season is coming and tourists will drop off, and ensuring a warm greeting upon arrival. They're sitting on a gold mine if they stay open all day during the busy season. Perhaps I expect too much?

This is a very busy cafe. The food is great. The big breakfast really is BIG and very tasty. The coffee is good and the English breakfast tea is Twining’s, which I enjoyed. The pancakes served with ice cream, strawberries and banana are delicious. There’s an area where ice cold water is available, which was welcome. When my partner asked for some sauce with his big brekkie, the wait person looked at him as though he had demanded champs. Asking for sauce with a big brekkie can’t be that an unusual request surely! Perhaps providing a small area where sauces and marmalade/ honey are made available to patrons would be helpful . Excellent brekkie, which I’d recommend to others.

We came here on a busy Sunday for brunch and were told it would be 25 - 30 minutes wait for food. After 40 minutes, and seeing tables who arrived after us receive their food, we asked when ours would be ready - “soon”. 20 minutes after that we finally received our two plates, with a cursory word of apology. So we weren’t happy, and sadly the food did nothing to lift our spirits. The “passionfruit pancakes” consisted of plain stodgy pancakes with a minuscule drop of passionfruit sauce and a few scattered blueberries. “Pea and haloumi fritters” were better value but did not redeem our disappointing experience. Overall we would not recommend Green Mango Cafe - hopefully we just caught them on a bad day.

The place was busy to initially a good sign. It was a lot of limited English speaking staff, not well trained on what’s in their cabinet, uncleaned tables, people waiting for their take away food. We ordered two wraps already made up in the cabinet and two soft drinks it took 25 + minutes to arrive.

As a Broome local, I am regularly disappointed in the Green Mango of late. This morning topped it. Firstly, my family and others waited outside the cafe this morning, after opening time, for staff to unlock and open the doors. I ordered our meals and paid in cash only to have to wait for the staff to refill the till with change and be told sorry we have been busy with rubbish and deliveries out the back. I ordered the pea, haloumi and spring onion fritters with poached egg and bacon. My meal came out without a poached egg and the fritters were fried dough with what we counted being 2 peas among 4 fritters and not a piece of haloumi or spring onion in them. What topped it off was the large amount of packet spinach leaves (large prepack coles bag) piled in the centre of the plate. When I questioned the staff member about the poached egg and fritters she had no idea it came with an egg despite it being on the menu. Another family member ordered the mushroom w walnut pesto. It was pesto from a jar at best and disappointing given basil grows wild in our towns climate. The only decent meal was the passionfruit curd pancakes and that is saying something. The place is also looking due for a fresh coat of paint and a good scrub and clean. Town is still busy with tourists and soon things will quieten down during the wet. The cafe and ownership need to up their game quickly to make the most of any opportunity of patronage.

Got breakfast here this morning and wasn’t all that impressed to be honest. I ordered an Eggs Benedict & a large flat white ($24.00) My coffee came out first and first impression of that was “weak”. I couldn’t help but think that there was no extra shot in between a small and a large coffee. To me it tasted like a small coffee that had been put in a mug and topped up with warm milk. My Eggs Benedict then came out and my first reaction to that was “pathetic” Serving size was small and the food was tired looking. The taste was bland I left feeling unsatisfied, like I needed to go and get a decent coffee elsewhere and something else to eat. In hindsight I should have stuck with what I knew, and returned back to “Dragonfly Cafe” where I had a much better experience the day before (see review) I feel bad that I have nothing really positive to report about this place, I even found the girl that served me and the staff in general to be a bit unhappy and unfriendly, I won’t be back…

I have had some great meals at Green Mango but the last salad I had was terrible. The greens were not fresh and it looked thrown together. As someone who loves to cook, presentation is really important to me particularly when you’re paying a premium for a salad. I’ve only had coffee here once or twice and was okay but have heard of others having to leave there coffee undrank/throw it out, particularly when made with dairy substitutes like almond milk or soy. The pre made options are nice and thats probably the only thing I’d choose to buy from Green Mango these days.

Came in for Breakfast today and we were met with a rude woman with curly hair. When presented our food we were met with rolling eyes and plates smashed down. With that attitude we will not be coming back, loss for you as we always come here.

Service was slow for toasted banana bread which was good when it arrived. A bottle of water was ordered with a coffee but did not come out with the coffee and had to be followed up on. Under COViD circumstances no complaints, just saying how it was at the time

Popped in for lunch at 12.50pm. Ordered prawn and scallop salad, citrus juice and a coffee. Asked if they could make me a sandwich which is on their board - answer was no. Coffee was great. Waited 40 minutes for salad which was served 15 minutes after the closed sign was put up. Waitress had salad in one hand and a spray bottle and rag for cleaning in the other. Felt they were focused on getting out of there- not the 20 customers still there eating or waiting for food. Prawn and scallop salad consisted of about 6 small prawns and 1 scallop cut into 4 bits, half a bag of salad leaves, big pieces of red onion and some squashed tomato dominated by a vinegar tasting dressing. So not worth $22 Wouldn’t recommend for a feed

The Big Breakfast was rather pricey at $27. The bread and the crushed avo was the standout in the dish. The burritos on the other hand was good value at $16 where you could choose 4 fillings & 1 sauce. However, we were charged extra for 2 fillings but the owner did refund us our monies.

It is a pleasure to write this review when there was many other cafes that were not open or closed. We ate here 3 days in a row it was that good , the staff were very friendly and the wait times for food was minimal when it was very busy each day. Opening at 7am I had the big breakfast twice and eggs Benny on each morning…food was plentiful, delicious and very tasty . Green Mango should be supported , it was clear that this is very well run cafe that looks after its customers and staff , I enjoyed coming here every day !

Breakfast was delicious. Very busy cafe so that’s a good sign. I don’t think we waited that long for food to arrive but getting a table was pure luck that someone was leaving as we arrived. Will definitely be back again the next time we visit Broome.
