Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have been in Australia and New Zealand for a month and without doubt this is the best meal we have eaten. We came twice. The steak was good but the squid ink linguine was just wonderful. I don’t normally rave about restaurants but this...is a step above. Just come.More

4.5 stars. Food was tasty and waiters were polite and cordial. My guests enjoyed their meals (beef gnocchi, linguini), mine (squid ink pasta) was a bit on the small side. However I would recommend this place to anyone who wants great authentic Italian food.

This has become by far my fave place on Lygon St! Whilst the history and romance of Lygon Street is a thing of legend, the reality is that many of the options are tourist-focused, loud and Aussie-Italian. None of that is a criticism per say...as that is no doubt the biggest market, but for locals it doesn't always appeal. Da Guido La Pasta however, is a thing of beauty. Traditional, intimate and truly delicious. I could not recommend this place more highly and is a must do for any local or tourist!More

Walking down Lygon street, after the "hustle" area we came across this small Italian restaurant. It was quiet but the food was absolutely delicious. They had plenty of different gluten free options. I had a gluten free gnocchi and it was absolutely amazing. My mum...had ravioli and said 'tender with a rich flavoursome filling.' These portions were also perfect. They may look small but they are the most perfect size.More

We went here today for lunch, the staff serving our table is very nice and friendly. Probably because we had a late lunch, the environment is very quiet and cozy. We could also see via Open Kitchen it is very clean. When the food came,...we are stunned! They’re really amazing and I had the best Carbonara in my life, other dishes are very good as well and all of us enjoyed the meal very much. Despite I have not been to Italy, but this is the best Italian Restaurant I’ve ever been. Will definitely return when I visit Melbourne next time!More

Highly recommended. The staff truly looked after us from the moment we called ahead to secure a booking, to squeezing us indoors upon arrival - nothing was too much trouble. Food was a delight, authentic Italian fare at its best - the open kitchen layout...lends to the ambience. Best of all, the service was the crowning touch, will return.More

I absolutely loved Da Guido la pasta. I went with friends for a catch up, we started with a cocktail & ended the night with a limoncello. The food was delicious & the staff are friendly, welcoming & attentive. I’ll definitely be back.

My family and I had dinner here while visiting from Sydney. This is an outstanding restaurant. The food is fantastic, as is the service. I loved the open kitchen. The atmosphere, setting and hospitality made me feel as if I was a special guest in...someone's home. It was so good, we returned the following evening. Congratulations to the chefs and to the staff. We will return.More

Came across this restaurant whilst on a city trip to Melbourne and visiting Lygon Street. Oh my goodness the food was outstanding and every table was fully booked with walk - ins entering all evening. A sure sign of a great restaurant. The owner was...working so hard and very welcoming. I had the Waygu Beef Ravioli. The taste was out of this world and cooked to perfection. Service was first class. An open kitchen was on show. Spotless clean. If we return to Melbourne this will be our first stop. A truly authentic Italian restaurantMore

We celebrated our 11 year wedding anniversary here. The food and the atmosphere was absolutely everything we could have hoped for. Relaxed vibe but felt special. Food was unreal (and my husband is a chef so hard to please). Special mention goes to Micro who...really made our night feel special .More

If you want to have an authentic Italian dinner, this is the perfect place. The food is great, cocktails as well, the staff terrific. Despite they're quite young, they know perfectly what they are doing. You can feel and taste their passion and effort. The...atmosphere is nice and welcoming, with a chic touch. Looking forward to my next dinner there. I'd like to say a big grazie to Mirko and all the other guys that are part of the staff, because you guys are amazing. P.s.: best tiramisu I've tried in Melbourne!More
