This restaurant is a gem. It small but comfortable with a delicious selection of ‘home style’ Italian meals. There’s nothing commercial here, the ingredients are market fresh, the recipes generational and the presentation eye catching.
The wait staff are terrific, providing a personal understanding of each dish and giving a detailed presentation of all on offer that day.
The menu changes daily, so what you loved today may not be there tomorrow.
There is also a comprehensive range of Italian wines on offer

We have been to this intimate restaurant on many occasions but our most recent Saturday night meal was the best so far. If you are crazy about Italy, this is just the spot for you. The staff are delightful and greet regulars like family but they are professional when describing each dish. My marinara was perfect if not a little big for me, but there were plenty of takers of my leftovers. The pasta was cooked al dente and it was the right temperature, hot but not too hot. The others cleaned their plates of all food so I'm guessing theirs was just as delicious as mine.
The ambiance is, well, very Italian - close, buzzing but not too noisy. Clean white table cloths which are wiped after the main course. Oh and our desserts were out of this world - canneloni and tiramasu. And I was full before they bought out dessert but it was irresistible.

I did not release how small this restaurant was when I booked... we were 2 tall people squished in a little table against the wall. It was raining so I'm not sure if there are usually tables outside on the footpath. Thats the only down point. We really enjoyed the service by the young Italian staff, who were very attentive, and the pasta dishes we shared were delicious. Cute and atmospheric, but certainly not a place for a quiet or discreet dinner.

Our hosts Alisa & Manuela provided a table at this small and busy restaurant despite no booking - and it just got better from there: the menu catered for all tastes (carnivore and vegan), with a beautifully cooked blend of Italian flavours and a good wine selection. The hospitality and attention to patrons was spontaneous and authentic. Thank you for a lovely evening.

This restaurant seats only approx 20 people and the seats / tables are not big thus here is your ‘little’ in the ‘big little Italian experience’. The ‘big’ comes from the taste, quality and presentation of the food and the choices of different wine by the glass. It is a joy to eat here.

I wish I could give 6 stars! Beautiful, authentic Italian dining experience.
The restaurant is buzzing with only a few tables inside. Staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable with wonderful service skills.
I had a seafood pasta which was extremely fresh, on par with the very best meals I’ve had in Positano and Capri.
Good selection of lovely wines to accompany your meal. I couldn’t recommend this place more. A must try.

cucinetta is a very small resturaunt, so booking is essential. We always go to Cucinetta every time we are in Melbourne. Staff are always so helpful. My wife is in a wheelchair, and they help in every way possible. I always order their Caco de Pepe, which on this occasion was not as good as in the past. The cheff has added truffle to the dish, which personally i do not like, But iverall a great resturaunt.

We had their signature dish, a lobster linguine (amazing) and also their truffle ravioli (they don’t hold back on the truffle, it was well balanced). Seating was cozy, felt authentic and service was great.
I would recommend this place for a great dinner and nice evening out.

Service is great, venue is cute... everything else is very average. The food is ridiculously expensive & lacks flavour. The servings are tiny! There are definitely better options for tasty Italian food - give this place a miss!

This interesting little place off the main drag is consistently outstanding. You have to love a place that makes you feel welcome everytime, provides you service with great flare and a smile, and has some of the best Italian food in Melbourne. Thank you guys, it is always a pleasure to dIne with you....look forward to our next visit

What could you ask more than a delicious plate of homemade pasta? nothing. Here, I could really enjoy the perfect balance of the taste. The portion was awesome, the service just perfect, and with all its goodness, it really worth the price.

Very small, cosy, intimate setting. Limited number of patrons available to be seated at any one time, which meant that everything you ordered came out really quickly. Staff were really friendly.
Food was amazing - i had the scallops entree and tortoglioni lamb ragu which was perfectly cooked and very tasty. Tiramisu to finish, which was the nicest one I have tasted...ever. Homemade limoncello was also delicious.
I would highly recommend Cucinatta. Well worth it!

We first visited roughly a year ago, before Covid made dining challenging for the past year. The chance to get back for their 29 cheese gnocchi was welcomed, and once again the food, wine and service did not disappoint.
It is such a small venue, that it pays to book well in advance, but it's never let us down!

We wanted to visit this restaurant for my husband's birthday, but Melbourne was still in lockdown, so we ordered delivery instead. Our meals were absolutely sensational. I ordered the lobster fettuccine for my husband and ricotta truffle ravioli for me. Both delicious. Thank you Cucinetta for helping to make this a really special evening for us.

One of my favourite restaurants in Melbourne. Small menu offering, but every dish I have tried is just divine, as is the wine menu. Service is also lovely. An all round fantastic lunch or dinner experience
