Came here for a quick meal before a night final for the AFL. Food was good, spicy and tasty. Service was a bit off hand but they were busy. If you like chilli meals, here is good

We chanced on this restaurant when we were wandering through Chinatown. The staff were efficient and helpful. We had the Spicy Fish for a main plus the Black Fungus in Chicken Stock. The waiter asked if we wanted the spice turned down in the fish dish but we said we'd be fine. Wow! It was lovely, and fish was very spicy but... More

I ate here with one of my daughters before the AFL Grand Final. Naomi loves chilli food and was not dissapointed. I had a more "subdued" dish but it was tasty and fresh. Not "high class" Chinese cooking but very acceptable and a very large menu to chose from. Service quick and polite. I had to ask twice for a... More

Name say it all. Good food and good price. Not for you if you can't tolerate chili's. Quick service and value for money

Dumplings were delicious, friendy staff, nice atmosphere... Would recommend it to others. In het hart van Chinatown, authentiek Chinees eten in een net en gezellig restaurant

A friend and I recently had a quick lunch before a theatre show. We had the chicken and corn soup, spring onion pancakes and san choy bow. All meals came out piping hot and very quick. Thoroughly enjoyable. The staff were friendly also. I have eaten at Spicy Fish many times and keep returning because the food is always good.... More

We chose their signature dish of spicy fish, and a couple other dishes. Wow wow . I am going back again to have that spicy fish dish. All meals looked good on other tables and... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
