We felt very relaxed and well looked after at The Press Club. The atmosphere was faultless and our 3 course meal was delicious and amazingly priced. There was an added bonus of a very generous appetizer and then a petite four with our cofee. The...More

From the moment you enter this intimate space and are greeted by one of the delightful staff, you know you're in for a memorable evening. Coats taken at reception, moody lighting, dark mirrors and curvaceous banquettes set the scene. The service is confident and assured,...More

We booked a 6-course for mom-in-law birthday treat. The food was beautifully presented but I didn't expect them to over-cooked the food. The fish was over cooked. Then the octopus, tasted grainy. That's overcooked. The last thing I want to know is that does Greek...More

My mom and I are massive Masterchef Australia fans from South Africa and had to stop by George's esteemed restaurant on a visit to Melbourne. I was shocked by the price of the menu and we chose the 6 course degustation accordingly. We have done...More

We were greeted by friendly and attentive but not overbearing staff and selected the four course menu to be selected by the kitchen. We were treated to octopus, blue eyed cod, lamb and a cream/pastry dessert. Lovely touches like the breads with dips to start...More

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways

George Calombaris' flagship Melbourne restaurant for MAdE Establishment has cemented itself on the global dining scene with its unique Modern Greek cuisine. In October 2006, the four directors joined together to form MAdE Establishment, and opened their first venue, The Press Club Restaurant and Bar. This began a new era for George Calombaris and cemented his place as a culinary star for his Modern Greek Cuisine - never seen before Melbourne; where modern twists to traditional Greek cuisine has put this restaurant on the global map and has diner's wanting more. The Press Club seats 38 guests in individual booths. Next door to The Press Club at 52 Flinders Street, is Press Club - Projects, George Calombaris' creative and development kitchen. This space can be booked privately for up to 8 guests and offers a completely interactive experience as the chefs experiment with new dishes to make the menu in The Press Club.
