I've been coming here for years with people - it's one of my favourite places to meet up for lunch. The East Asian food is consistently good without being spectacular, it's comfortable, and there's a good variety of dishes. The service is usually quick and the prices are average for this area.

Again, the same problem on Hardware Lane. So many places to enjoy so many different cuisines, but where to go?If you are for Thai Dishes at moderate price, get in! Ambience: Could be better, cramped place with too many tables Staff: Friendly Food: Tasted very good (but we had to wait for 45 minutes after ordering our food, don't know... More

Awesome location. Fabulous service. The food was lovely. It wasn't anything exceptional but having just returned from Thailand our expectations are probably a little high. The roti with peanut sauce was awesome. That sauce was great. The pad Thai was average as was the pad see ew Delicious cosmopolitans and cocktails. They were made beautifully and not with syrup garbage.... More

This was my first visit down hardware lane, the restaurant was cosy and perfect for a small group. We decided to go with banquet A (approx $35PP) there were 4 courses and lots of food, very good value and everyone was full after the meal. To be honest I have had better Thai food but for the value the food... More

We wondered through Hardware lane on a Friday night. Its a very busy dining area located in central Melbourne. There are loads of spruikers trying to get you to eat at their restaurants however we chose Aloi Na purely because they didn't have a spruiker annoying us! I ordered vegetarian Tom Yum soup and Pad Thai (vegan) and my gf... More

Thai Restaurant in atmospheric Hardware Lane. Staff were friendly and attentive, without being 'in your face'. Food coming out of the kitchen looked fresh and delicious. Prawn rice paper rolls were yummy, the Prawn Laksa was deliciously creamy and Thai Beef Salad was fresh. All portions were generous. Wait time was minimal. Highly recommend.

After walking through a sea of Italian and burger places, this place seemed an attractive option for dinner before a show. It took a little while for the food to arrive and we felt a bit rushed once it did, but I have to say that the food was lovely. We had beef with ginger, a fabulous chicken salad and... More

As far as Thai restaurants go this one is 'Australianised'. If you want any chilli at all in your dish ask for it as there is no discernible chilli even in red curry or satay. This is second time here and it was the same last time. Not surprising restaurant was pretty empty on both occasions , whilst rest of... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
