Asian fusion is somewhat very 2011 but every dish here is 5/5. That being said, not everyone can afford to dine here! Overall: 4.4/5 because of pricing.

A nice restaurant. Another excellent Melbourne modern Asian spot. Came here with old friends and had a lovely time. My opening negroni set the night up most satisfactorily. I didn't concentrate as much as I should have on the names of the dishes we had,...More

Been here a few times and every time the food has been delicious. The restaurant is beautiful inside and the staff were very friendly. Great place for dates or special occasions.

On arrive the two young men at the desk were very rude & escorted us to our table where thankfully our waiter for the night continued to serve us, lovely young man that went above & beyond. For starters we had the Betal leaf with...More

Booked online about 4 weeks out, for a Saturday night at 8.45pm. Our table was in the main area, away from the entrance. The space, the light and ambience of the restaurant was great. A small and very tight bar area for people waiting for...More

Looking for Vietnamese that won't disappoint? Coda surpassed all our expectations. We caught up with friends who recommended Coda. Arriving at lunch we asked the chef to bring out a selection of plates he would recommend. All the dishes were sublime, especially the Betel Leaf...More

Sadly nowhere near as good as we expected or the reviews suggested. It's ok: food alright and service good enough, but it's not exceptional. The lobster betel leaf a let down, the buffalo with pea salad a bit gluggy and other dishes not a lot...More

Don't you just hate it when a restaurant has success and then forgets who it exists to serve? That was our experience at Coda. When we made the booking we agreed to vacate our table within two hours which should have been no problem. We...More

Highly recommend this up-market restaurant. The food did not disappoint in taste or quantity. Only quibbles were the very low lighting and noise levels.

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary
feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the
city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques,
throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air

Trendy. It's a smart place but casual. Not dressy but trendy. Some of this will depend on your age. I went with my two sons 37 and 40. I wore a jacket with jeans but then I'm a little older. Not sure if this helps at all... More

I had no problem with the way the food looked, so a photo wouldn't help. It was very well presented. It was the way the flavours worked ... or more disappointingly, didn't. But then again, I am often disappointed by... More

Upon opening our doors in 2009, we were thrilled to receive the The Age Good Food Guide's 'HatAward' and have maintained it ever since. Complementing these achievements, we are very proud of Head Sommelier, Travis Howe, who not only won Sommelier of the Year but also picked up the 2013 Wine List of the Year. Nestled in one of Melbourne's iconic laneways (basement Oliver Lane, and Flinders Lane), Coda is located in the busiest and most dynamic culinary precinct the city has to offer. A stone's throw away from the Yarra River, Flinders Street station and Federation Square, the restaurant enjoys hosting a diverse group of diners from frequenting locals who live and work on its doorstep to diners from all over the globe. Upon entering the restaurant you will be greeted by a member of our friendly team headed by Mykal and Kate Bartholomew and Executive Chef Adam D'Sylva. The trio has assembled a dedicated team with highly sought-after experience from many international and Melbourne-based restaurants. Coda's relaxed environment provides a versatile setting for a range of engagements. Whatever your occasion - from a quick pre-football meal, to a long Sunday lunch, business dining or a cosy seat for an anniversary - we look forward to your visit. While bookings are highly recommended, patrons without a reservation can enjoy the full menu at the bar.
