We visited for dinner and had the 6-course tasting menu with matching wines ($140 per head) taking the "surprise" option suggested by the staff. This made for a very pleasant dining experience over the next two-and-a-half hours. The food was engaging and, as with previous...More

We selected Taxi Kitchen because of its positive reviews, and its preference for Victorian produce. The tasting menu with matching wines looked impressive and good value. We were not disappointed. The range of dishes covered all that I wanted to try from the main menu....More

We have had a drink here a few times as the location and atmosphere is great! The drinks are always nice but do not order soda water here as it is off tap and they charge you a ridiculous amount for it!!!!

Have been here before for lunch and love the ambiance and view. The menu has a good range of choices. On a cold Melbourne day you can enjoy the views while being warm

This place is outrageously good. Service was impeccable even on NRL finals night when the place was packed. Delightful entree, main and perfect cup of tea to finish. Could not fault this place...highly recommend.

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary
feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the
city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques,
throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air

For a 180 degree view of Melbourne's city skyline, Yarra River and Arts Precinct, journey to Taxi Kitchen in Federation Square's Transport Hotel. Hosting cocktail events, a la carte dining, pre-show drinks and boasting three private function dining rooms, Taxi Kitchen dazzles guests with views through floor to ceiling glass windows complemented by earthy tones, indoor greenery and natural light for a clean, semi-alfresco feel. Playful menu items provoke a certain inquisitiveness of guests, charmingly presented on a bed of black pebbles, rustic wooden boards or in colourful, textured dishes. Delight in any or all six courses from seared scallops with red radish, smoked chilli mayo and katiafi to Wagyu porterhouse with creamed potato and jus gras - just be sure to leave room for dessert
