We have been eating at Punch Lane since 2009 and consider it our favourite restaurant. We have only been able to fault the service once, which was around June-July 2020, which was the first time out of "lockdown" and the staff were new and weren't...operating at the same level as the usual crew, who were excellent and they knew how to provide a service. Extremely challenging times for the industry and glad that the establishment still continues to operate. Thankfully, moving forward to July 2021, we returned once again for our anniversary and were really pleased with the service level and food. The atmosphere was nice, not too noisy and the staff very knowledgeable. We entrusted the team to the evening and chose the set menu with wine pairing, which was excellent and we finished up the evening with a couple of cheeky dry sherry's. Overall, an excellent experience and when we return, we hope the theme of excellent food and service continues.More

Came here with my boyfriend for our anniversary. Cosy, warm atmosphere, attentive staff and amazing food. The menu was a little limited and albeit quite expensive, but definitely worth the splurge for a special occasion. I believe it is also a seasonal menu, so I...would love to return later in the year to see what other options are available. We needed help deciding on an entree so our waitress suggested we try the chorizo with Padron peppers, of which one in every five is spicy. We were really grateful for this recommendation as playing this little game of roulette together was such a fun, exciting way to start off our meal. While the heat of some of the peppers was intense, the flavour was incredible. Another must-try is the Parisian gnocchi, which is made with choux pastry. So light and fluffy with an amazing flavour. Another thing we really liked was that we didn't feel rushed at all - we were given ample time to decide what to order, and then to really enjoy our meal and soak up being there. It added to the romantic experience as we could simply relax and enjoy our time together. Punch Lane was beautiful and we will definitely be back!More

Hurts my heart to say but after 20 years of dining here we were really underwhelmed by our dinner. Staff were not very attentive. Food was great in parts but other parts just very ordinary. Left feeling a little sad. Maybe we had the b)...team tonight but for the price and previous experiences we certainly left feeling like we’d be unlikely to return anytime soon. I hope it returns to what it used to be.More

My husband and I recently relocated from Sydney to Melbourne and now live opposite Punch Lane Wine Bar and after dinning there last Saturday night and again last Wednesday night, we feel very lucky to have this little gem of an institution on our doorstep....On Saturday night four of us had the set menu and each dish was delicious. The staff were wonderful and since we had our little dog "Mojo" with us we sat outside and the weather and ambience were perfect. Jane our server was funny, informative and willing to help with any questions. Jennifer the cocktail server even got our Mojo some water (without having to ask). On Wednesday night it was just my husband and I and the team at Punch Lane made us feel very welcome with wine suggestions and a beautiful charcuterie board. Punch Lane, thank you for making us feel like we are home.More

Celebrated our first night back in the city by having a two course dinner at Punch Lane. Extensive wine list, attentive staff and delicious food. Thoroughly enjoyed the burata and quail dishes for entree, and lamb and steak for mains. Would return.

A friend and I had dinner at Punch Lane to celebrate my last night in Melbourne. The food was amazing and not what I expected. We both started with the Oysters which were fresh and delicious. We followed with the Steak with roasted bone marrow...which was sensational. The crispy beef tendon was a nice touch. The portions are very generous, we were both full. No mini cheffi dishes here, just great food, cooked to perfection and served well. Would highly recommend it if you are in the Lanes in MelbourneMore

We had the two course lunch menu and it was fabulous. Nick, our waiter, was very attentive yet unobtrusive and he was one of the reasons we enjoyed lunch so much. We all enjoyed our meals - the burrata was delicious, as was my spatchcock...and we highly recommend it. Melbourne's lane way establishments are wonderful and Punch Lane is one of the best I've been to. Thanks for a great lunch!More

Shout out to Nick and his staff who were knowledgeable and helpful - and very accommodating. Nick even made a special-request cocktail for our friend. The wine list is great - and includes plenty of well priced options. I also noted that their wine pours...by the glass were generous in comparison to other wine bars we visited. The menu is fresh and simple (not extensive) and everything we shared was delicious. All up a very fine evening at Punch Lane.More

I don't know. I guess you just ring them. If it's anything like our experience it will be very quick because you won't get any food.
