Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amazing. There was nothing on the menu we didn't want to try! Every dish was perfect! Party of 6, we all had a range of dishes. Entrees included Assiette Froide (mix of the ocean trout, terrines and pates), ravioli, Plateau de charcuterie and steak tartare. Everyone couldn't say they had better anywhere. Mains included Entrecote de boeuf, Canard a la Montmorency, the specials board lamb dish and special board coq au vin, specials board barramundi and scallops. Serves were very generous and we couldnt fit in the amazing range of desserts!!! Service was excellent despite the restaurant at capacity and multiple sittings.

What a great night for my 50th birthday. We had a party for 10 people. The staff were so lovely from the moment we arrived. We were greeted warmly and given a table in a quiet corner so we could easily chat to each other. At no time did we feel rushed it was just a very easy going but quality night. The food was lovely French fare. French onion soup was delicious and served piping hot as it should be. One of our guests also had a truffle omelette which he said was wonderful. The steaks we had were just the right size and when I asked for medium it came out medium. All the others who ordered steaks also were exactly as ordered. The confit of duck was also a stand out according to another of our friends. We finished with superb desserts (crème brûlée). I would definitely recommend this great establishment to anyone wanting a lovely French dining experience (and I will add that this is the 3rd time I have been to Paris Go and have always had a great time and delicious food. The level of experience has not diminished over the years at all).

After years of walking past this restaurant, we finally decided to go in. What a great place! The menu has a reasonable range, but it's not too big, and what we had was exquisitely cooked. When we looked around, we noticed that everyone else had BYO'd some really good bottles of wine. That's what we'll do next time.

Went here twice in quick succession - and has been here it seems for many a year. On the first visit i had as entree the Mussels in champagne suace - which was just a delight. But to my disappointment they were not available the next visit (afer ordering them and then told later they were not available). For the mains if had the lamb of the day (slow cooked casserols) and on the second visit a rack of veal. Both were excellent. Service was great on first night but they seemed to be understaffed on the second. Cheeses and dessert were excellent. Give it a try.

Paris Go! had a comprehensive menu, with French traditional favourites and modern options. On the modern side the goats cheese ravioli was excellent, a vegetable tart was delicious, and the fish and scallop main course dish was perfectly cooked. For traditional fare I loved my French onion soup and my husband’s steak was just right. Many dishes looked and smelt delicious, I will have to come back. The desserts looked so good we couldn’t decide, so ordered six for our table of four. The best was the fig pudding, a little bit like sticky date pudding but lighter, with a more delicate flavour. Pear tart tartin was wonderful, the pear pulled apart with a luscious scent of cinnamon, though the short pastry was unusual. I am told the lemon tart was startling in its lemoniness and is recommended. The crème brûlée was fine, the chocolate mousse and profiteroles were nothing very special. It is a full and busy restaurant with good service. It’s all about the food.

We have lived in the area for many years and had never been here. A friend commented on it saying we must try it, and I have to say it is now in our top 5 for Carlton!! We were a group of 4 for dinner. The menu had so many choices and the specials were very appealing. We all chose different entrees, mains and desserts, and every single dish was fabulous. We agreed we have to go back to try other dishes that looked so tempting. And we all agreed the food rated 9-10/10. The wine list is extensive and they also have BYO if you wish. The staff are warm and welcoming, and their attention to detail is excellent. The ambiance is warm and inviting. A cosy venue for a romantic or couples dinner, but equally suitable for family, friends or business groups. I have to say that the food is outstanding. We will become regulars.☺️

Have not been to this restaurant for over 5 years. But food was excellent service was spot on. BYO for $15 per bottle was reasonably. Menu with specials small but plenty of variety to suit most people. Would highly recommend & we will be back. This restaurant has great French cuisine and excellent wines. It is also BYO. Tibo looked after us and was knowledgeable about all aspects of the menu. There are specials apart from the usual fare. A must to visit if you enjoy French food.

Very pleasant indeed.. immaculate presentation of all aspects within the restaurant. Staff, table settings, glassware and of course the food. 6 dined and all were extremely happy with their meals. Perfectly located on the northern fringe of Melbourne’s CBD in Carlton. “Bon apetit “

This place is the classic French Bistro, nothing original but who needs original. You feel as though you are in the French Countryside. The food is good, not amazing, but good. They 'nail' the classic dishes. The fact this place is BYO is a real plus. And the staff are nothing but attentive. Its a definite 5 stars. I will go back when next in Melbourne.

My wife and I had our wedding anniversary dinner here and it is without a doubt another one of Melbourne’s hidden gems. The service and food are both phenomenal.

There's a popular term that I hear from time to time and that is at times "Less is More". Sad to say that in this particular instance it doesn't apply. I have an expectation that when paying premium prices one should recieve a reasonable portion size and not left wanting. I was left wanting. The entree were as exoected and yummy and whilst I can say that the mains were also yummy we were disappointed with what was on the plate i.e. in my case a small piece of snapper fillet, a prawn, some shell fish and other bits and pieces for $42. All I ask is that the meal is reflective of the price in terms of taste and portion size and it wasn't. This was a venue that we visited every anniversary but sadly we won't be back.

I work in hospitality and we are turning people away that are not fully vaccinated. Why NO checkin and No vaccination check. Love your food but won’t be back

The food was very pleasant. It was not cutting edge, but everything was very tasty. Over the years, it has been a very reliable place to go to for French food

Lygon Street
If you want real parmesan, cut from the block, grated over your pasta with a twist of style, this is the place. Until recently, this neighbourhood was home to the notorious ‘Carlton Crew,’ a pseudo mafia who started their day with a local espresso. They are gone, but the espresso still runs strong in this Little Italy which has something for everyone. Starched white tablecloths, candles, pizza the way they do it "back home" and maybe even a bit of amore. The number of gelato choices will leave you in a state of indecision and wide footpaths, big awnings and a sea of packed tables makes this al fresco dining experience a continental buzz. Even if you’re not eating, it’s worth the stroll just for the people-watching, which, of course, is an Italian tradition.
