Recently met my brother & his partner here for a Christmas family catch up. She had booked in what she thought was the 'grill' & they seated us in the main, more expensive restaurant. We asked to be moved and ordered the set lunch menu for 2 for 3 of us. It was great, plenty for 3 and no objections.... More

This review is for Oyster Bar at Crown. We were staying at Crown for a few nights around the 30th of December 2015, and had tried out a few restaurants and eateries during our stay, which were great! We decided to go and have seafood as a late lunch. We were asked if we wanted still or sparkling water, so... More

Had to come back to this place recently to dine on some of the best sea food in Melbourne. Had a special dinner here many years ago with a very special Lady and years later nothing has changed. 100% for food quality and service, can not fault. Now just to get that special lady back there, you now who you... More

The seafood was just excellent. We had a terrific selection of appetizers and main dishes and all was great and perfectly prepared. The restaurant is not cozy. You go there for the good food. Manager Caleb took really good care of us. Parking is a bit of a problem on this busy street but with some patience you will find... More

Great place to go if you just love oysters, once you eat one you won't be able to stop. The food here is amazing, great menu to pick from. Service was fantastic and friendly. Good wine selection that go perfectly with the meal. Everyone loved their meal and we can't wait to go back. Great value.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
