I am very sad to hear the closing of this fantastic Carlton restaurant. The owners Mario & Lori & staff were a pleasure to be with. I introduced many friends & clients who were equally taken by the quality of the food, service & ambience. I...wish you health & happiness for the future. Glenn & Jane FontaineMore

Discovered this wonderful, authentic and vibrant restaurant on a few years ago and loved taking all our overseas visitors there. Warm, cosy, atmosphere and fantastic food. Grazie mille, Il Cantuccio.

Cozy and delicious Italian food. My friend and I shared 2 x pastas and the bruschetta. Pasta was cooked to perfection, the staff were absolutely lovely, it was the owner, his wife and daughter working. Would highly recommend this lovely little family business in the...heart of Melbourne.More

All I can say is WOW. The pasta dishes are unbelievably good. One of the best meals I've had in a very long time. Great service, unbelievable food, intimate setting. BYO wine as well. Need I say more... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! I'd even say I'd give...it 6 stars if i could. Best Italian in Melbourne, all at a reasonable price. Can not recommend enough. Can't wait to go back and try some more.More

Will definitely be visiting again. The service was wonderful, creating a lovely atmosphere. The staff were very accommodating. They have gluten-free options here and can even do bruschetta on gluten-free bread. It was delicious! Much better than you expect of something gluten-free. When you combine...awesome food with great service, you end up with a memorable night. Thanks guys!More

My partner and I came here a couple nights ago and was in love with the beautiful ambience this restaurant gives off. The staff were lovely and friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. We ordered brucetta and herb & garlic bread for entree which...was beautiful. And I ordered fettuccine bolognese while my partner ordered the marinara. With great pricing and tasty food we will definitely visit again.More

Popped in for a quick main course, did not book but the friendly lady greeted us and found us a table. We had cannelloni and meatballs with chips, meal did come a bit quick for my liking but they were tasty and hot. Beer was...cold but wine not so nice (the lady let me taste first which was helpful) so stayed with the beer!. It was very busy so assume locals us it as it was a Tuesday night. Would recommend.More

On our last night of a 4 day stay in Melbourne we chose Il Cantuccio based on reviews on TA. My wife and I were not disappointed as we had an excellent meal. From the entry when we were welcomed into the restaurant to complimentary...Limoncello on leaving it was superb. The food was cooked to perfection with large portions and the price was very reasonable as well and far cheaper than back home in the UK. We had 2 mains with garlic bread a beer and a bottle of wine all for $98. If it hadn’t been our last night we would go back.More

If you want real parmesan, cut from the block, grated
over your pasta with a twist of style, this is the
place. Until recently, this neighbourhood was home to
the notorious ‘Carlton Crew,’ a pseudo mafia who
started their day with a local espresso. They are
gone, but the espresso still runs strong in this
Little Italy which has something for everyone.
