The service was very disappointing with server having non to no experience on the floor. The food was OK not the best. Dishes were under seasoned and steak was over cooked. Advised the manager who took it away and served another one. Would have expected...profound apologised and at least comp the glass of wine or a discount. Very disappointing specially when you are paying premium price.More

Friday the 17th of December, we dined at Florentino, what a disappointment. The service was poor. 3 of us had a pasta dish, it was barely edible. We called the waiter over and explained that the pasta was not cooked properly. The waiter disagreed and...said that is how it should be. I can cook better pasta at home. As our bill came to over $850.00 it was simply not worth it. A charge of $30.00 for still water was not disclosed , until we received the bill.More

I have dined at Grossi Florentino on many occasions over the past three decades, and enjoyed many memorable experiences there with friends, family and professional colleagues. It is often the highlight of my visit to Melbourne. I returned to Grossi last Friday, hosting two professional...colleagues there for a special end of year lunch. I had hoped it would be another memorable experience. Sadly, on this occasion the experience was quite disappointing. Two things that stood out: 1) The service was patchy at best. Two older waiters served our table, but there were significant delays in receiving timely service. The remainder of the younger and more junior support staff did not make eye contact. 2) More significantly, last Friday, there was a daily special: a pasta dish entree with lobster tail which sounded so appealing that all three at our table decided to have it. We were informed that there would be a $50 surcharge for this dish, and if we had it as a main course, which we elected to do, there would be a surcharge of $65 because, to quote our waiter, "there would be more tail". When this dish arrived, it was extremely disappointing. A somewhat ordinary bowl of pasta with an "OK" sauce, but only very small pieces of lobster meat sparsely scattered though the sauce. It was actually embarrassingly mean. Given that three courses are $150, and the surcharge was $65, effectively, this prices this dish at a value of at least $115. It was simply not worth it. As you can imagine, after all our anticipation, it was quite humiliating for me in front of my guests and left us feeling somewhat ripped off. This is definitely not the experience and value that I have enjoyed at Grossi in the past. I have subsequently been in contact with the General Manager of Grossi and the response was similarly disappointing: a standard cut and paste apology and a paltry offer of a free glass of champagne next time we attend.More

Florentino provided a 5 star lunch dining experience. Waiter service was attentive and helpful. Food was full of flavour with great choices for every course. Chocolate mousse was fantastic. There were plenty of reasonably priced wine options from an extensive menu. Could not recommend highly...enough.More

Grand tour food was ok. Premium wine was very good as was the service. What I found disappointing and not a five star experience was the $20 for still water(price never disclosed) and the $13 surcharge for Amex.(not disclosed). Extremely expensive bill I can live...with but not the rip off ad ons.More

A good choice for some delivery for a special occasion during lockdown. The next best thing thing than going out. It made my partners birthday a bit more special.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while and unfortunately it didn’t reach the standard of what I expected. The Tortellini was too hard, salty and inedible. The rest of the mains were average and nothing special. However, I will admit that the...starters and the charcuterie board were delicious and well presented, but then it was all downhill from there. Expected a little more from an establishment that is a hatted restaurant. Will not be returning.More

We booked the private dining room for my dad’s birthday dinner. The food was exceptional but even better than the food was the hospitality of the staff. The room was beautiful and they catered for my small son also. Grossi food has always been of...such good quality and freshness and we enjoyed it very much. Maria was also so helpful in organising the cake for us.More

We were extremely disappointed with our recent dining experience at florentino’s . Although it was a busy Saturday night, the service was below par.. drinks took ages to arrive, food was not up to the usual standard, dessert was dropped on the table (tiramisu) he...then served the remaining piece to us and placed the piece that he dropped on the table into the bowl the tiramisu was served from, this is not what you expect from a five star restaurant.!The waiter was quite condescending to our host that evening. NOT the experience we would expect from this establishment.More

Important business lunch on a Saturday. The food was so disappointing and the staff were aloof. The window seat was good. Business was good but unfortunately, the charm has gone at this restaurant.

Hello, I'm sorry for the delay. No doubt you have already experienced the delight of Grossi Florentino by now. Smart casual is fine, but it's so lovely there and getting dressed up would be nice.
