During short stay in Melbourne ate at this place twice. Staff was friendly. The food was good and had authentic taste. The prices were reasonable.

Got a thaali for $11.50. Contained 2 naan, dal, and a veg/meat option of your choice). Naan was nice, not particularly soft but pretty decent for this city. Dal was okay, quite watery however. The rajma was nice, but very heavy in garlic (which I enjoyed). Bought some papad for $0.25 which tasted really good. If you're an Indian, the... More

Went to Flora Indian Restaurant with few friends, I asked for one meal bur apparently the cushier didn't understand me very well and ordered me another one (more expensive), I ate it- wasn't the best Indian food I ever eaten but the worst part was the stomach problems I had after the meal.

I met a friend here for Indian breakfast. Its right opposite the main entrance to Flinders Street Station, super easy to get to. I was early, they open at 10am but they let me sit inside and wait for my friend to arrive (very kind as it is really hot out today.) The seating area is large, very clean and... More

Ate a few times at Flora after seeing reviews on Tripadvisor. It is centrally located on Flinders Street so easy to get to if you are staying in the City. Food is good, particularly the samosas, however, I was a little disappointed in a couple of dishes I had that were quite cold. I love masala paper dosas but it... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
