We tried this place as we were looking for someone casual. saw the restaurant from a taxi and it looked good- particularly the duck and pork hanging int he window. We were not disappointed. For three persons it only cost us $20 each - very reasonable, tasted good and cheap for roast duck and roast pork.

Huge variety of food with great Roast Duck. Very reasonable prices with great portions of food. Recommend the roast duck on rice for any roast duck lover.

We often head here after a show, or when we are looking for a late evening snack. The pork dumplings, roast duck and almost the entire menu is exceptional value for money. Service and takeaway are both efficient

I concur with the others, quick and tasty fare. Happened to be just passing by and saw the roast pork and duck in the window and looked too good to pass up.

Nice place to pop in for a quick tasty meal. Nice roast pork, chicken and duck. The satay were nice. The crispy pork fried rice hot and tasty.

The food here was pretty awesome and priced at cafe prices. The soy chicken was soft and succulent, but a tad bit sweet. Roast pork, duck and char siew were well done. Their signature China Bar Fried Rice looked ordinary, but tasted good. Wasn't thirsty after the meal, and they served free flow of water

I can't say enough about this place... I often grab a quick lunch here, bring my boy (who loves the Chicken and Corn soup, my lunch staple also) or dine with friends after a big night out. The food comes out fast, the staff are really friendly and it's the best of all the China Bars by a mile. Check... More

I visited the one in China Town in Melbourne City with my family of 7 people. The restaurant is a bit limited space but the staffs are helpful and tried to facilitate our visit. The best dish from yesterday was Hainanese Chicken Rice, the chilly paste is deliciously unique and hardly find another that comparable. I also like the egg... More

Every time we go to Melbourne CBD we end up at this hole in the wall restaurant. The food is fantastic, it's open late and you get good quality food and lots of it for a very reasonable price.

This restaurant is a fast paced well oiled machine which gets the food out fast with plenty of flavor. We stumbled across it, gave it ago and were not disappointed

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
