Always make a trip to Brunettis when in Melbourne. Coffee is consistently great and the cakes are divine. Love the choice of smaller versions of the delicious desserts so you can sample more than one! Have found the prices creeping up though!

Visited Brunetti in Myer and had a coffee and a Canoli. Outstanding as per usual. One of our must visits when in Melbourne.

The cakes as usual are wonderfully delicious and paired with a coffee, simply irresistible the only problem being this time we had to stand and drink our coffees and have our cakes made takeaway as there is just not enough seating .

We visited Brunetti in Carlton during our stay at the larwill studio, and boy, what a selection! From the beautiful cakes at the front of the store, the bakery selection, the coffee bar, to the pizza and ice cream at the rear of the store, Brunetti is a place to behold! You can easily spend an hour or two there,... More

Took Japanese visitors for coffee and cake. Just amazing place with such a variety to choose from. Service was fast & coffe & cakes were simply scrumptious. Will certainly return in near future.

Brunetti is a great place for coffee and something sweet or a small bite to eat. It is ideally located along Lygon Street and a must before catching a movie at the Nova!

Walking along Lygon Street and noticed hustle activity outside a shop near Woolworths Shopping Centre. On closer inspection it was WOW ... look at those colourful and sublime cakes in the window ... this was no basic cafe - as we discovered this was the renowned, iconic Italian pasticceria, 'Brunetti'. On closer inspection - apart from a sensational array of... More

Calzone Spinachi and quality coffee. What else could you ask for breakfast. The first coffee had too much foam for a flat white. No problem. Made me a new one. Absolutely delightful.

It had been almost 10 years since I had first been to Brunetti's bakery and I was really keen to re-live that experience which had been a highlight of my trip and I wanted to enjoy again. At first I had trouble locating the store but put it down to my poor memory. The place was definitely different and much... More

Staying in Lygon Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Lygon Street
If you want real parmesan, cut from the block, grated over your pasta with a twist of style, this is the place. Until recently, this neighbourhood was home to the notorious ‘Carlton Crew,’ a pseudo mafia who started their day with a local espresso. They are gone, but the espresso still runs strong in this Little Italy which has something for everyone. Starched white tablecloths, candles, pizza the way they do it "back home" and maybe even a bit of amore. The number of gelato choices will leave you in a state of indecision and wide footpaths, big awnings and a sea of packed tables makes this al fresco dining experience a continental buzz. Even if you’re not eating, it’s worth the stroll just for the people-watching, which, of course, is an Italian tradition.
