One our favourite restaurants and we come here quite a few times each year. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the food is delicious. When we went last week it was because of the Facebook advertisement Amiconi had for their dessert special of a lemon cheesecake. It was a delight! While the other half had his usual calamari, I had the veal special and I couldn’t fault it. It was simply divine. So if you’re after a traditional, friendly, busy and delightful Italian restaurant in Melbourne, head to see Michael and his team at Amiconi - you won’t be disappointed.

We had an early sitting, midweek, but the restaurant was still full. The food was overall excellent. The grilled calamari was excellent and the veal excellent. The only drawback was the spinach was overloaded with garlic. We noticed there were many other customers who also left the spinach. Desserts were excellent. I have the social citrus pudding. Simply excellent.

Efficient and capable staff, tasty food and pleasant cosy but quite noisy venue. The bruschetta accompanied by a bottle of the house red were good starters whilst we enjoyed catching up after so long. Pasta courses were hearty and tasty. A lemon tart to share to finish.

We visited this restaurant twice. The food here is fantastic and on par to what we had in Italy. Authentic good food. Hence after having lunch on the first day, we went back the next day for dinner. We ordered almost similar dishes with slight changes to the choice of pasta and risotto. However when i saw the bill, i was very surprised. I was charged 50 over for eggplant parmigiana. I ordered this as starters and there were 2 pricing, starters and main, when i was served the food, it was larger portion hence i thought they were serving as main, since the day before i order same dish and request for started size. However this was not the case and they did not even ask us before charging it. I was surprised still i paid and left. After i left i was checking with my husband if he ordered the larger size eggplant or if the server asked us before serving, but he also confirm that nobody ask us about it and we were all horrified that it was charged as such without checking with customer. We felt cheated and disappointed with the way they charge the customer and would warn others to order their dishes more carefully at this restaurant

Fabulous Italian food, nice atmosphere and very friendly and helpful waiting staff. Meals are like a home cooked meal! I have eaten here a lot bringing family and friends and not one of us have ever had a bad meal. Entrees, mains and dessert are all fabulous! Generous portions

Great food & service within a lively atmosphere. We had a family gathering of 8, celebrating 2 birthdays. We so loved this restaurant. The food was very good-and the service was both solicitous and friendly. And the team sang ‘happy birthday’ very well! We will definitely return.

There is a feel-good vibe when you enter Amiconi. It is a family Italian restaurant in North Melbourne with no competition in the area. Everyone is pleased to be there at Amiconi. The restaurant was packed to capacity for the early sitting. The bobby veal was delicious, young, tender and the sauce and vegetables were perfect. The antipasta platter was a skimpy serve. The best waiter, Everton attended to every need and talked us through the menu. He was peace and calm and reassurance in a very busy restaurant. He even offered us complimentary drinks to finish off.

A must every time we visit Melbourne. This time a special birthday celebration with family and friends. 16 of us, not a problem. Excellent service, the standard of menu did not disappoint. BYO wine, what’s not to love. Recommend the mushrooms and the chicken liver entrees and the pasta selections which are consistently delicious.

Cozy friendly Italian restaurant with professional waiters who had a great sense of humour. We had Bread - to excite the buds, followed by sharing Spaghetti Marinara and Pollo di marco. Both were excellent but I’d have the Pollo di marco again as it was delicious.

For our entrees we had the ‘house special’ mushrooms and calamari . The calamari was up there as the best we have ever had. Light crisp batter and tender. 😋😋 The mushrooms were amazing but they were the most expensive mushrooms I have ever had . My husband had the marinara with spaghetti. He rated this is up there as the best that he has eaten….. and can I say, he has eaten a lot. I had the chicken with the creamy sauce. Very tasty and extremely filling. The service was attentive, warm and friendly. This place has been around for 60 years and what they do, they do well. Slightly more expensive than we normally pay, but it was a special occasion. We will return.

Monday night at 7pm and the restaurant was full. No surprise there as the food was absolutely delicious. Real homemade food, and great service. Worth a walk or a taxi ride. You won’t regret it if you like Italian food. An added bonus, it’s BYO wine.

We were recommended to a beautiful family owned Italian restaurant in West Melbourne. Amiconi lived up to all expectations, incredible food, service and to die for Tiramisu. Many thanks to Michael, Anna & Rebecca for an amazing lunch and afternoon and making Garrys birthday so special!
