Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Full of light and with tables comfortably spaced out, the Urban Provedore is a nice place for breakfast or just a coffee. I was intrigued with the choice of jams, so I took toast with my coffee. The coffee was strong and full flavoured and the pear and passionfruit jam rich and sweet. The service was good and I was brought a bottle of water with the menu.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. It’s a pleasant space and the food is delicious. My dish was the Spanish beans casserole. It was an exceptionally sound choice. The bean stew is a beauty - rich and full of flavour - and the potato croquettes that accompany it are very nicely done. The chorizo is well worth getting too as an add on. It was expertly charred and scores and had a wonderful fun little kick to it. Overall, the dish is a very good one and most enjoyable to eat. My partner loved her breakfast arepa too. Like, really enjoyed it. The coffee to finish was excellent too. Close to faultless. A shout out to the servers here as well. They just were so good. Friendly and so efficient. Viva Colombia!

Dropped in on my first morning in Melbourne for a late breakfast. The café is spacious and was about half full when I arrived. Service was a little slow at the start and having sat for a while I had to ask for a menu (having watched later arrivals being given one). But no big deal.
The eggs royal I chose were superb, and the portion size was very generous! I didn't need to eat again until that evening!

Was invited by a family member to join her and her partner for brunch and this was the restaurant. Place was very busy, so expectations where high. I ordered the special ‘Pumpkin soup’ it arrived and looked tasty, but was far from it. Soup was grainy and one could not taste the pumpkin, only the herbs and spices an unpleasant taste. The others stuck to a more traditional eggs and bacon type meal and they where fine as was the coffee. Expensive for a basic unimpressive meal. Won’t be rushing back.

Extremely slow service for just a coffee, one person doing till and making coffees. Very expensive coffee also - $7 for a small iced coffee!?

We enjoyed our birthday breakfast here. They catered for all ages and the food was good. We had a big table and were not close to others.

As an out of town visitor I like adopting a local when in Melbourne. This week is was the Urban Provedore. Lovely, understated service, good food and drinks - reasonablly priced.
And now to the small things. Aurally every movement of a chair dragged across the tiled floor is a fingernail down a blackboard - felt on the chair legs would be an easy fix.
And please don’t argue with the customers when we give feedback about the music being a bit harsh for a weekend morning. I don’t expect you necessarily to do my bidding - I wish simply to be heard - and maybe an offer to turn the volume down a little during the rockin’ numbers would have been sufficient. A good place - could be great with a little attention to the smaller things. I’ll be back.

Very nice fresh prepared meals and smoothies. Obviously a favourite with the locals and no wonder, given the great service and high quality produce.

We sat down at a table and we both ordered toast and coffee (not difficult).
After 7 or 8 minutes, toast and marmalade arrived. It was nice but we wanted to eat toast with coffee so we ate it slowly and continued to wait.
The lady on the coffee machine was very busy but was also serving people who came in for take away coffees.
Another 3 or 4 minutes and we reminded the waitress about our coffee who apologised and said there had been several take away coffee orders this morning ..... but they should not be served ahead of us.
Eventually finished all toast and so we cancelled the coffee and I asked to speak to the manager. I was surprised to be told the manager was the lady working the coffee machine.
I tried to explain to the (coffee machine) manager lady and she regularly interrupted and talked over me not allowing me to explain and claiming we had only been waiting 5 minutes.
We were not pressed for time and slow service was not a big issue, but we wanted coffee with the toast ...... but worst of all, the manager was very rude to us.
It’s also expensive, for 4 pieces of toast (2 each) we were charged $16.
I will not visit again.

Chapel Street
Seek and ye shall find! Prahran is a treasure hunter’s paradise of vintage stores, upscale boutiques and emporiums. Chapel Street is a one-stop shop with specialty stores selling just about everything. The famous Chapel Street Bazaar has so many curious and vintage knick-knacks that you will feel as if you're in a huge and busy museum. By contrast, at the northern end of Chapel Street, South Yarra and Windsor cater to high-end designer labels and exclusive boutiques. The community flocks to Prahran’s organic markets as a Saturday ritual, while art and film students leaf through vinyl LPs on Greville Street. The gay community also has a strong presence here. Prahran’s heritage buildings like the Reads Emporium and Prahan arcade offer a grand sense of scale and history. No matter your interest, come feel the pulse of one of Melbourne’s most loved precincts.
