Excellent service and love the 24/7 vibe, not many places like this around. Almond Latte was nice and my partner was happy with her hot chocolate. Will be returning

Halloween weekend, little drunk and hungry at 4 am in Melbourne city. I arrived at this late night gem not expecting much as I'm a food critic and experienced many terrible late night venues. But much to my surprise my expectations were greatly exceeded. Upon...arrival i was greeted promptly and asked what for my drink order and advised i couldn't drink outside but he would see what he could do, a pure gentleman to say the least. I had a chicken ceaser salad with extra Anchovies which is always my late night go too and it did not disappoint. Fresh salad, creamy dressing and just enough Anchovies to my liking. Service was attentive but not overbearing and at a very reasonable price considering the late hour. All in all 9 out of 10. When visiting Melbourne don't miss this restaurant, it's a hidden treasure.More
Nice food and good service, however the price for some items were a bit extreme (but tbh that’s probably all of Chapel Street).
Excellent service , quick , went in for a late snack and tea n coffee. Chai Latte was amazing. Couldn't resist had to have 2 . A must try !!!
We come to this restaurant for breakfast or dinner whenever we are staying in South Yarra. Absolutely love the service and food quality, friendly atmosphere and comfortable environment. They have a wonderful cake selection, hard to pick which one as all look delicious. Very good...eggs bene. Will always come backMore
If you’re looking for a midnight dessert and coffee, or even dinner at one am, this place is perfect. The food was good, the service was excellent, and the place was buzzing.
When I and my friends want to buy a bottle of wine, there was an employee teasing us with an Asian discrimination, and when the boss learned the truth, he admitted that it was discriminatory, but he did not think that his employees did it...wrongMore
The service staff is racist and supported by the manager. It was a terrible experience and the food was so-so.
Last night, my friends and fam went here as a last resort assuming that the level of activity was an indication that the food was good. We were wrong. Apart from the two fish meals, my potato and rosemary pizza was mediocre, and overpriced and...lacked rosemary and the mushroom as advised to replace the prosciutto. The roasted vegetables on the roasted vegetarian, were anything but roasted and it was obvious that the chef assumed that the roasting occured at the cooking phase by throwing the raw vegetables on the base and throwing it whole into the oven rather than pre-roasting. My friend's fettuccini pasta was just plain weird and heavy on mozzarella. All dishes were overpriced and didn't quite add up to their value. Avoid this place and aim for something fancier that fits the bill. This place either needs to reevaluate their pricing or up their game with the food. Service was good and attentive. Personally, I would avoid going here again and would deter others from going. A real shame for a place that's been around for years. Obviously they capitalise on staying open longer than other establishments and walk-ins of groups. The love for producing good food is completely lacking hence, so un-Italian!More
We had a leisurely breakfast for two: great food! Really good service. It was so relaxing watching the world go by on a Sunday morning while enjoying this breakfast stop.
After decades of passing Chapelli's and being aware of it, I finally ate there for dinner one post COVID evening. I knew from word around town that it was good and it proved to be. We had excellent pasta - gnocchi (perfect) and spag marinara...(perfect). Employees were all friendly and professional and welcoming. Meals were served promptly. Really enjoyed this visit and I will be a regular. Slightly across the road from the Jam Factory, so treat yourself after the cinema. Chapeli's is open around the clock.More
The restaurant is usually open 24hrs but they are obvs having issues with COVID staff availability so revised hours of opening are on the door of the restaurant. It was clear a lot of the staff were new and/or inexperienced so the service was haphazard...but friendly. When you asked for something you got it but the service wasn’t polished or timely but I doubt this is really too different to any other service in a Melbourne restaurant at this point in time. Clearly very challenging circumstances. We sat outside which had a really nice vibe on the road in a booth. Ordered fish & chips which was great - good amount of fish that was nicely fried & a side salad with a mountain of chips. Good value & well done. And the salmon with seasonal vegetables. The fish was well cooked with a nice creamy sauce and the veg was fresh & there was variety & a decent amount. We enjoyed the meal & would go back.More
Had the gnocchi marinara for lunch. Best in town for the price. Napoli sauce delicious. With a nice glass of house red, all up cost under $50. Great.
One of the worst coffee and hot chocolate I've ever had. The normal coffee hardly had any coffee on it. The hot chocolate had hardly any chocolate in it. When I informed the staff, they took it very lightly. Won't come back to this place...againMore
I had been to so many cafes lately that I quite forgot what good service is. Here I was brought water when I asked and when I had consumed the bread rolls, I was offered more. My wine by the glass was lovely and well...priced and my lasagna was a large piece. It was delicious and very filling. The setting was comfortable. I sat inside, but others were enjoying the street tables.More
