For something special, we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary at the Hotel Windsor. It was certainly High Tea. We had a choice of tea, with cakes and dainty sandwiches. We really liked the scones, still warm from the oven. Although the serves appear to be...small, we left feeling satisfied and needed very little dinner that night. As our wedding anniversary is the Fourth of July, we certainly had a worthy celebration.More

The good - the venue is special. Beautiful building. Perfect as a high tea venue. The service was brilliant. Old world charm eat your heart out. The bad - the food. Look, the quality wasn’t bad, but there just wasn’t much of it. Very small...portion sizes. All in all, an average experience.More

My 3 daughters and 2 grandaughters took me there yest sat 8/5 the day before Mother’s Day paid and extra $50 per head and $20 extra for kids. Not sure what the extra charge was for didn’t get anything extra. Have Been there 3 times...over the year, have rated it the best high tea but not yesterday No special menu or food for kids age 7 & 10, kids don’t eat patte or cucumber sandwiches, no pastries like quiche, pies ect all this food the size of a 20c piece that hadn’t heard of just looked colourful no scones but they came out with the sweets? And no sweets bar as before they loaded the table up with tiny sweets don’t know what most were and had a weird taste or no taste the bomb-a Laska was still frozen inside the scones were dry like stale and sweets were terrible Very I mean very disappointed and feel ripped off They only thing enjoyable was the Tea oh and the kids got a Hot chocolate and still want to know what the extra money was for??? Won’t recommend it and won’t ever go back !!!More

I was so excited to tick off an experience I have always wanted to do when visiting Melbourne, as my parents would always reminisce about the Windsor Hotel. Eight of us attended, and instead of being seated at a round table we had seating booth...style for half and the other half were in chairs looking at a wall, very disappointing, but did not let this ruin our family get together. The savoury food/sandwiches were delicious, however the sweet plates were very ordinary and the whole table agreed, many of the cakes were left. I felt that the Windsor Hotel has rested on their laurels/reputation with the standard of food on offer. I have been lucky to attended many High Teas, but could not state this was one of the best. The venue is delightful, and the service was extremely friendly and helpful with any dietary requirements. I am glad I visited, and experienced the Windsor, but would not rush back.More

As we were staying at the hotel for the weekend we decided to give the iconic High Tea a go. It is a lovely restaurant (although I really wish the chairs were on the "sides" of the table so you can both enjoy the lovely...surrounds, instead of someone staring at the wall, such a shame). You get 2 towers, first a savoury and then a sweet one. I personally was a bit disappointed with some of those items, considering we paid $99pp - I don't like being served "tiny" items, and I found the scones rather average, along with some of the other items. I was hoping for chicken sandwiches or cucumber and cream cheese as I don't like egg or seafood - they were happy to leave out the seafood but I also don't like mushrooms, so I was just a bit disappointed in our items. We don't drink alcohol so I wish there was a cheaper NON-alcoholic option. However we could have a softdrink, and endless tea and coffee so we weren't short on drink. I found the service good, friendly and they kept asking if all was good. Would I recommend it, I'm really not sure, most go for the ambience as it's so iconic, and it does have that - but for value for the food, I feel others do it better.More

A Birthday celebration for our family with nine of us having High Tea at the Windsor - simply wonderful. Beautiful setting and impeccable & friendly service from the team. We all felt the cost of $80 pp was excellent value for money given the amount...of food and drink supplied. Much mor3 food than we could possibly eat so we took leftovers home boxed up. Bottomless hot drinks and excellent assortment of savoury and sweet themes with an Easter theme. Will return for another special occasion.More

For our 40th wedding anniversary, I decided to surprise my partner by taking her to High Tea at the Windsor Hotel in Spring Street.. The environment was lovely. We started with a glass of bubbles. We had a cake stand loaded with tiny cakes, dainty...sandwiches, and scones with jam and cream. We had a choice of tea; we chose Earl Grey. We were quite replete with the cakes and sandwiches; it doesn't look like much, but it is very filling. High Tea is an Edwardian ritual and the Windsor is one of the last remaining Grand Hotels of the Victorian EraMore

Four of us had a beautiful high tea, including one of us who had their own vegan high tea stand. The staff were very helpful and attentive and food was served promptly. We had lovely selections of savoury first, then a separate serving of sweet...treats. Each option was beautifully presented and described to us as it was served. When our waiter heard that one of us was having a birthday, a little birthday cake complete with message written in chocolate appeared and he offered to take photos. All of this with a glass of bubbles and tea or coffee. Just lovely. The beautiful old Windsor thoroughly deserves its iconic reputation.More
