Two of us shared the osso bucco and a salad and even that was too much food! It was delicious. The swordfish was tasty and more delicate than I have had previously. The risotto was also great. Overall it was a fun place for a quiet dinner for 2 couples with good food and a nice atmosphere.

Great service. Basic food. Generous portions - the pappardelle delicious. My partner had the calamari and the dish came with salad and chips

Ate here during our recent visit to Melbourne - it's tucked out of the way and unless you knew it was there, you wouldn't find it but it's well worth the effort. Small and intimate; service very good and food, just delicious. Obviously genuine Italian food cooked on site. Well worth a trip.

In the centre of Melbourne, this is a small Italian restaurant we discovered quite by chance. The service was efficient and friendly, food arrived quickly, and was delicious. Prices were reasonable too, which is always a plus.

A hidden gem. Fantastic Sicilian food. Fresh and tasty. Prices are very moderate. Out of the way just off Collins street. Don't miss it.

We come to dine at this restaurant every time we are in Melbourne, we just love the food. They will also cater for my Gluten Free needs. I think I had one of the best GF pizzas I've ever eaten on the weekend. Thanks Maccaroni. Staff very friendly.

Was so looking forward to some decent pasta in Melbourne but what a let down. The waiter was a little rude and all our pasta was bland... never again.

We enjoyed lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Service was friendly and helpful. Our food was good - but not the greatest Italian we ever had.

Located in Manchester Lane, one of the quieter inner city laneways is this cosy and friendly family run restaurant. On a recent trip we loved it so much we went there three days in a row! I can recommend the delicious minestrone soup, the bruschetta, the Italian salad, the Gnocchi Sorrentina and the stunning Pappardelle mushrooms and truffle. I recommend... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
