We had a good meal here on a Sunday evening. Arrived at 1830 and was seated immediately. Lovely waitress and service and not too crammed in as you will find most of the eateries in Lygon St.

Our friends brought us here for dinner. Fantastic food and atmosphere. Delicious pizza. We had the best best Caprese salad we've ever had at a restaurant. Will definitely come back and next time it's our turn to bring our friends here.

Though Lygon street is chockfull of restaurants, many of them Italian, the aggressive accosting of passers-by is a real pain, especially as our preference is to take a look at the menu on display and make a decision without being button-holed by some pushy tout. We tried La Cavallina precisely because no one accosted us and it was a good... More

We chose this restaurant randomly when walking along Lygon St, mostly because it had enough room outdoors for us at the time. The food was very good - I had a great seafood marinara with very fresh tasting and not overcooked seafood and a delicious cream sauce. I also had a really great vanilla milkshake here - really great. The... More

We ordered pizza, spaghetti and meatballs, and spaghetti and avocado. My spaghetti was overcooked, so it didn't taste quite right; however, the meatballs were amazing! My wife said her spaghetti and avocado were right. My in-laws said their pizza was alright as well, but I noticed only one slice of avocado per portion. The waiter was really kind and worried... A large restaurant we were seated outside with warm heaters going.Great atmosphere with lots of tourists around from various countries. We had pizza which was beautiful and pasta was also good. Service was good can become very busy.

We were invited by our friends here to eat at this restaurant. We enjoyed eating the Italian food in the warm atmosphere and friendly service of the cafe. We were having Aglio Olio Spaghetti, Mussels in white wine, Garlic Prawns, Traditional Mushrooms Pizza. The food were well cooked and we were happy to have a wonderful night meeting our friends... Staying in Lygon Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Lygon Street
If you want real parmesan, cut from the block, grated over your pasta with a twist of style, this is the place. Until recently, this neighbourhood was home to the notorious ‘Carlton Crew,’ a pseudo mafia who started their day with a local espresso. They are gone, but the espresso still runs strong in this Little Italy which has something for everyone. Starched white tablecloths, candles, pizza the way they do it "back home" and maybe even a bit of amore. The number of gelato choices will leave you in a state of indecision and wide footpaths, big awnings and a sea of packed tables makes this al fresco dining experience a continental buzz. Even if you’re not eating, it’s worth the stroll just for the people-watching, which, of course, is an Italian tradition.
