We ordered pizza, spaghetti and meatballs, and spaghetti and avocado. My spaghetti was overcooked, so it didn't taste quite right; however, the meatballs were amazing! My wife said her spaghetti and avocado were right. My in-laws said their pizza was alright as well, but I noticed only one slice of avocado per portion. The waiter was really kind and worried... A large restaurant we were seated outside with warm heaters going.Great atmosphere with lots of tourists around from various countries. We had pizza which was beautiful and pasta was also good. Service was good can become very busy.

We were invited by our friends here to eat at this restaurant. We enjoyed eating the Italian food in the warm atmosphere and friendly service of the cafe. We were having Aglio Olio Spaghetti, Mussels in white wine, Garlic Prawns, Traditional Mushrooms Pizza. The food were well cooked and we were happy to have a wonderful night meeting our friends... Stopped in lunch. I had carbonara and my wife had lasagna. Both were very tasty. The waitress we had was very friendly and accomodating of our slightly tired 4yr old. I happily recommend this restaurant.

Lygon Street can be daunting. Lots of restaurants, some with hawkers trying to entice you inside. However if you are looking for somewhere to just stop and have an authentic Italian pizza then I highly recommend you try this place. The wine list prices were also quite reasonable compared to other places we have tried.

Nice location, OK view, ok stables, menu is decent but food is just meh. I think it's all just ok but for Lygon street - the home of Italian food in Melbourne - we could have done better. Pizza was better than the pasta. Still waiting for Mick Gatto to walk down the street!

Staying in Lygon Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Lygon Street
If you want real parmesan, cut from the block, grated over your pasta with a twist of style, this is the place. Until recently, this neighbourhood was home to the notorious ‘Carlton Crew,’ a pseudo mafia who started their day with a local espresso. They are gone, but the espresso still runs strong in this Little Italy which has something for everyone. Starched white tablecloths, candles, pizza the way they do it "back home" and maybe even a bit of amore. The number of gelato choices will leave you in a state of indecision and wide footpaths, big awnings and a sea of packed tables makes this al fresco dining experience a continental buzz. Even if you’re not eating, it’s worth the stroll just for the people-watching, which, of course, is an Italian tradition.
