In Melbourne for a weekend, we wanted to include several of the best cocktail bars and restaurants. A fan of cocktail history, a visit to Bar 1806 was high on my list. It did not disappoint. Dropping in with only an hour to spare before...More

Well located close to Her Majesty Theatre for a pre-theatre drink. The venue itself is warm and inviting and the drinks list is okay, but the cocktails themselves are a little lacking. I would prefer to head down to Eau de Vie next time instead.

Friday night work function was disappointing to say the least. Four ordinary (and very small) cocktails, with four equally tiny food samples-all for $120. Once the set price function was over, cocktails stared around $19 each. So whilst 1806 is a funky setting, you'd best...More

Great decor including leather lounges and "theatre" presentation. Cocktails were excellently made - but you do need to know what you are ordering as the light is too dim to read the menu. Great selection of whiskey and other drinks as well. Would definitely recommend...More

Found this only by chance while walking pass during the day and seeing the whiskey menu in the window. Treated ourselves to after theatre drinks. Great atmosphere.

Great idea for the place and atmosphere. An old theatre with a range of cocktails. Take a phone so you can read the menu. Staff were very good. A great unexpected place to go to before the theatre.

Everything about this bar was fantastic. A quirky little bar that really does transport you back in time. Cocktail menu is extensive, but our waiter was happy to help us pick. The cocktails were all about $20-25ea, but delicious. They also offer a recipe book...More

This place is cool and eclectic. The staff are excellent, and the cocktails are epic. Take a friend and go have a look. It's a warm and inviting place once you're inside.

Came here Wednesday night waited for a drink which never came. Sat at the bar and watched as a group of the male bartenders friend arrived loudly, received free drinks and shots, then walked out without paying a dime. Still waiting for my drink.

As an owner of a Bar in Miami I cannot understate enough your bartender working the evening of 28th June is ripping you off and ignoring paying customers. My wife watched and waited for our two drinks as the bartender provided 6 shots and drinks...More

We only visited 1806 for an couple of hours but I could imagine it would be a great place for a party. The staff were excellent & if you spoke to management you might even be able to book the whole place out, don't quote me... More
