We visited Merchant restaurant with some Melbourne-Italian friends who recommended this restaurant. I was really impressed... loved the fact that you could actually see the chefs cooking in an open-view kitchen. We ordered a mixed antipasto... everything was delicious. As the main course, I ordered...More

Meeting at the Rialto was convenient. The service was OK. My friend's whole barramundi was wildly overcooked. But I had the most flavoursome oysters that I have had in a long while. Could say they were chucked in house. Good coffee, as expected here.

Enjoyed dinner at Merchant, the Bigoli Spanner Crab Pasta was a standout. Great waiter (sorry can’t remember his name) very knowledgeable and friendly. Great selection of cocktails. Would also recommend the Ricotta Mousse, light & fluffy.

This restaurant I been several times, last visit was In July this year, as for the food fantastic good service and a great wine list, would recommend to business people and couples on date night. This restaurant is not overly priced but it’s not McDonald’s.

Had lunch at Merchant recently and it was very good. I had a grilled snapper dish with sides of roast potato and salad and everything was yummy. Service was pretty good. Definitely worth another visit soon.

Groups of ten are often a challenge for CBD restaurants but the merchant was great. Good wines with broad choice of mains and side dishes of vegetables. Went for the mackerel with shares of salad, beans and potatoes. Well cooked with attentive service. Followed by...More
