Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

kitchen where the food is prepared to approved health standards. All the meals are prepared AT THE BAR, using an air-fryer and a microwave. Not sure how this can be legal? Secondly, the lady preparing the meals is not using gloves while handling the food...and her mobile phone, all at the same time. The service was awful and unprofessional. If you want to waste a lot of time and money and go home disgusted then go have a so called meal at this joint. Nit impressed. Low standards of customer service and grubby warmed up food.More

A fantastic little spot with amazing food (definitely get the croquettes whatever the flavour of the night), a fantastic selection of cocktails and lovely staff. Tucked into a courtyard you might not know it's there, but then hidden treasures are part of the Melbourne experience.

The tapas is delicious. Tomato salad and tart both very tasty. I asked g or some bread to mop up the sauce from the tomsto salad ... charge was $4 for a few slices of frozen and boring bread. Music is cool and not intrusive....Staff seem poorly trained, inattentive and not interested in ¹ diners.More

Hi Margaret, I'm sorry to hear your experience was not as you'd hoped. The extra bread charge is because all of our bread is artisan gluten-free and much more expensive than regular bread - Buckwheat & Chia from GF Precint is far from boring! We...More

An annoying insincere ‘chef’ whose screeching insincere banter with patrons constantly echos through the barren echoing space which is more reminiscent of a school canteen with a bar than a ‘romantic’ venue. With no kitchen yet meals available (not just cheese boards and snacks) the...staff memeber avoided our questions of who provides the food or where it is prepared Cocktails were fineMore

Went to a beer tasting experience at the bar - really nice atmosphere, enthusiastic and engaged owners. Good beer, good food. Little bit of too long a delay between first and second tasting, but all good otherwise

A warm welcome greets you as you discover this cosy bar with a gourmet menu. It is a happy discovery to survey the clubby, homely interior full of history and a very well stocked bar. In the late afternoon local walkers and dogs were popping...in for a wine and a chat. All were very welcome and everybody became friends. The menu changes weekly with a highlight every week. My highlight was a reuben sandwich served with slabs of corned beef, home made Russian dressing, homemade sauerkraut, toasted rye bread and topped with a plump pickle. It was masterchef presentation and cordon bleu flavours. The Life's Too Short bar is a local gem for the neighbourhood. Why not pop down for your nightly well earned glass of wine served by the experts who really know their wine. It is a treat and very reasonably priced for a touch of European tradition and flavour.More

On a cold Sunday night the staff made us very welcome. The wine choices were great and the staff knowledgeable. The food was excellent and served in a timely manner. There were plenty of options for my gluten free wife.
