Holidaying in Melbourne for the Easter weekend included at least three visits to Ganache for their Classic Hot Chocolate....rich, creamy, that hint of dark chocolate bitterness but sweet at the same time. Don't know how they do it, but it's the closest thing to chocolate heaven.

Met up with some old work colleagues for a relaxed get together. We would have loved to have sat outside and enjoy Melbourne's sunny day, but the noise from the construction site next door was too loud so we opted to sit inside. We ordered the classic hot chocolate which was simply delicious. We also ordered the salmon quiche which... More

Always like to come and have a hot chocolate here when in Melbourne. It's certainly a lot busier than it used to be, haven't been to Melbourne in a few years so was pleased to see it was still here.

Very pleasant little place to have a coffee and grab some chocolates. Plenty of patrons coming in and out so it seems popular. Coffee here was good but not spectacular. It was a bit too much foam and slightly underpowered. It's certainly a generous cup though. I asked for a large cup and was given that plus a very fetching... More

+ the café interior is ok, quite unique + the service is nice - the quality is not good and in our chocolate mousse cake was a hair - the chocolate shake was white chocolate but in the menu is was not mentioned "white chocolate - the chai latte was not tasty - for that quality was it very expensive

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
