Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fine culinary delicacies where the presentation of each course was as spectacular as the enriching tastes and flavours. Such exceptional and friendly, service by Deepika paying attention to every detail and going above and beyond to ensure the most satisfying and enjoyable lunch. Thank you...so much and we will definitely be dining again soon.More

A bit of a confusing way to get to the entrance at floor 35 but once there, stunning views across the bay and good food.

Stayed at the Sofitel 3 nights and had breakfast here twice and supper once. Busy place with tasty food. Friendly staff. Definitely a more elegant nighttime location than at breakfast.

No35 is the restaurant for the Sofitel on Collins. It's a fairly typical hotel restaurant, and to be perfectly honest, although there was nothing particularly wrong with it, you can find much better restaurant experiences within ten minutes walk. We arrived for a late dinner...- not by choice, but because we'd been told there were no earlier sittings. It seemed odd, because the restaurant wasn't that busy and there were many tables that remained unoccupied throughout our meal. Maybe the kitchen was short-staffed or something. We would like to have eaten earlier. We were shown to our table, which was by the window - spectacular views across Melbourne are a selling point. It has to be said that the restaurant is extremely noisy, with tiled, floors and big areas of reflective glass. This is a 90s phenomenon that should be set on fire and thrown off a cliff; high volumes of incidental sound in a restaurant are totally undesirable for an enjoyable dining experience. Service at the tables was good, and the staff helpful. A small mixup with our entree was attributed to our waitperson thinking we had ordered 'tartare' rather than 'tacos' - an excellent illustration of the problems with excessive ambient noise. The food was good, but really, it was not 'great'. The fish taco entree, was simple and tasty. A beautifully cooked duck breast, and a very nicely presented blue-eyed cod fillet were flooded with just too much sauce. The dessert, a 'pina colada' rum baba, was pleasing. The wine was overly-expensive in the way hotels inevitably tend to offer it. It's the kind of restaurant where you eat because you're tired and can't be bothered going out (and it's being covered on the company account). It was fine, but honestly, we'd never come here again by choice.More

This is a stunning venue and the food is very good too. We had a delish meal here. I had duck which was lovely. The sommelier was very helpful in guiding us to our desired white and red wine. Definitely recommend this place.

Had a wonderful dinner at No35 recently - we took some friends who had recently married for their wedding present. The food was tasty, amazingly presented and good portions. We particularly loved the truffle pasta and beef carpaccio entrees! Staff were also very attentive and...friendly, and always with a smile! Compliments to the chefs and floor team - I always look forward to returning.More

We had huge expectations regarding this famous restaurant, because we had a lot about it in past. Unfortunately we didn’t see any special when we visited it during our holiday in Sofitel. Breakfasts were very ordinary, not better than other hotels which we visited. We...could get dinner in this restaurant because we wasn’t informed that hotel guests have too book hotel restaurant. So restaurant staff couldn’t find even table for two at any time. Actually administrator was completely ignored when she heard that we didn’t provide any suggestions where we could have a dinner, even it was a bar “Atrium on 35” which did use the same kitchen, which actually was really delicious. The only positive thing which I can find for this restaurant is a incredible view on Melbourne city from 35th floor, because even decor of this restaurant is not presentable.More

Took my family to No 35 for post Xmas celebration, party of 8….. great food and views, and pleasant service staff….. but service standards not in line with what you are paying for…. did have to ask 3 times for bread and cocktails took over...30 minutes to arrive…. But food was great…. But I did have one simple upfront request that just fell on deaf ears…. At time of booking I stated I would prefer to sit at a round or square table…. As we prefer that dynamic as a family… was told round table not possible as they only seat six, but square table might be doable but check closer to date…. I confirmed this in an email….. followed up with x 2 phone reminders…. But was called on the day and told it was not possible…. We would have to sit at a long rectangle table…. On arrival at 8pm there was a large space next to our table of x 3 empty tables that could easily be converted to a square setting ..lol the tables remained empty for rest of night….it seemed our simple request was something the staff just could not be bothered doing…. We still had a great evening, but if you want to excel at a personalised lives dining experience you have to have a “can do” mindset …. Not a “can’t do” mindsetMore

My wife and I stayed at The Sofitel Hotel for two nights during our recent holiday and we ate breakfast here on two consecutive mornings. The quality and wide selection of food and beverages are fitting for a five star Hotel. The decor and ambience...of this restaurant are very well presented. The service is excellent. The extensive views of Melbourne city are fantastic.More
