We were staying at the hotel and decided to have dinner at this venue which is located on the 35th floor. Our room was on the 47th floor. At $74 for a 2 course meal which includes a side each its not cheap. $14 for...a beer is also on the high side. However views were great, as was the service and the meals were beautifully presented and tasted great. I had a great entree of Teriyaki Lamb Ribs and my wife the Octopus and Pork Belly. Her main was very small though. Mains I had a great Eye Fillet Steak and my wife the Lamb Rack. Sides were Curly Fries and Mixed Veges. Overall a very good dining experience we would like to try again later this year.More

My experience with Sofitel Melbourne on Collins - No.35 Restaurant was poor. I booked a function (Sunday Lunch) for 30 guests plus 4 kids in early 2020. Group Reservation Executive Jeanette was non-contactable, all calls went no answer/ voicemail, so we had to reached out...to Group Reservation Specialist Sarah. Correspondence took at least 2 days for a response. There was no staff to greet guests at the entrance on the day. The waitress/ waiter opened 2 x NV Taittinger Cuvée Prestige – Reims, France $145 each without consulting/confirming with the hosts (myself or my husband). In addition, the Sunday Lunch buffet includes drinks (soft drinks, tea/ coffee, and red wine/white wine), but the waitress/ waiter did not offer drinks to the guests. As a host, I had to goes around and offered the guests drinks then conversed their drink choice to the waitress/ waitor. Overall, the communication was disappointed. Then, upon paying the staff charged all kids at $60 while some of them was clearly younger than 5 years old (3-5 years old - $30/pp, while 6-11 years old - $60/pp). When I clarified the kids' age, the staff again overcharged on the kids, 3-5 years old for $40/pp which is $10 higher than their listed price on the main website. When I questioned the difference on the next day, the restaurant manager said sorry and issued a refund. The money was so little but it has ruined the experience. In short, I did not expect this sort of conduct from a 5 star hotel.More

The restaurant had horrible service that completely put me off. There’s a rude, crass and disrespectful waiter called Atnarca who completely ruined our entire experience. Long wait times to pay, average food for the price and very poor reflection on the Sofitel brand (in who’s...hotel this mob is based). Won’t be back.More

Our evening started off with waiting several minutes just to get a waiter to seat us. We were greeted by a rude and obnoxious waiter by the name of Atnarva Lath who talked back at us and generally did his best to make our experience...as unpleasant as possible. At the end of the day, he gave us a bill and could not even be bothered to bring an EFTPOS machine to our table, we had to go to the counter, which would have been fine if it wasn't for the 15 minute delay on the other end to pay us. Making matters worse, they refused to even refrigerate/ chill drinks etc from outside, despite not advertising that they didn't have a corking service or making any attempt to communicate that to customers. All I can say is that, despite being an Accor Plus card holder (entitling me to 50% off) there's no way I'm coming back to this hell hole.More

My partner and I came here for our last night in Melbourne and was extremely impressed with the night we had there. The staff there were amazing and very attentive. The view alone is definitely well worth going to the restaurant and the food there...is incredible. One issue was the duck. DO NOT ORDER THE DUCK L'ORANGE. crumbed shredded duck on a paddle pop stick. was very average but I do admit the flavours of everything else on the plate was again amazing. If you're looking for a fine dining experience and willing to splurge just a little bit but not break the bank like you would need to do so at some other establishments I would highly recommend having your meal here...just don't order the duck.More

We all ordered a main course and side dishes. Main courses arrived but not together with the sides. My barramundi was lovely but the clams were rubbery and the pork was dry. One guest ordered a half bottle of Billecarte champagne but they were out...of stock. This hotel is French owned and they’re out of that popular champagne?? We reminded the waiter that we were waiting on the sides. Finally they came but 3 of the 4 diners had finished their mains. We spoke to the maitre d’ and he apologized and they were removed from the bill. Dessert was ordered and one guest ordered an affogato with sambuca but we were told the hotel doesn’t stock it. The Sofitel is an international hotel that needs to carry stock of all popular drinks. I would have thought sambuca is far from an unusual request. Will not to returning to this restaurant.More

We go to No35 at least once every few weeks why? Because we get great food coupled with attentive personalised service which seems hard to find these days that’s why we keep going back

I have now had two dinners here on two separate trips to Melbourne and both times the food and service were excellent. What really sets this restaurant apart though is the amazing views. Highly recommended

What an amazing experience! One of the best views in Melbourne, very simple and tasty menu, friendly and helpful staff! The floor to ceiling windows make the experience incredible. Food was very well presented, to start we had bread with a reduction of wine which...was warm fresh and delicious. Then we got a creamy/light corn soup a cracker style parmesan cheese piece and some cherry tomatoes, what an unbelievable surprise it was, so tasty. As main I order the lamb rack, which was soft, well seasoned and yum! For my dessert I had a pistachio panacotta, it was good, but I wish it had more flavours mixed to the panacotta or maybe a liquid sauce on top, when we eat only one flavour for too long it can get a bit weird and not as exciting. I tried the other desserts as well and they didn’t quite win my heart. But it worth trying!More
