Arrived without a reservation, but was greeted warmly and seated quickly. We ordered a salad and a margarita pizza, but half without the basil. While we waited, the server returned and asked whether there was a basil allergy, since the sauce might have tiny bits of basil in it. There isn't; just a dislike of basil. It was a very thoughtful and considerate question.
The free appetizer - hummus and tiny pieces of bread- was a very welcome surprise, not to mention, a very good one..
The pizza was delicious and just hit the spot.
As we were leaving, after paying the bill at the counter, our server came running out to say good bye and shake our hands. Wished I could speak more Italian than just
grazie and ciao. Would go back in a minute if I ever return to Melbourne.

We tried pizza, pasta, everything was perfect! Pizzas are for 1,5 people, 1 if the person is a little bit fatty. The only drawback is that when we arrived the places was overwhelmed and the food took some time to get prepared.
Well recommended!

Not only fabulous in taste but plentiful in quantity, we enjoyed a variety of pizzas, served in a buzzing atmosphere by very friendly and attentive staff. For the quality received, prices were reasonable.
I wouldn't hesitate to return.

First off, this review is for my satisfaction of how Da Guido handled my home delivery. I placed an order for ravioli and received a call from a strange mobile number a relatively short time later. The mobile number was the restaurant saying the food was ready. The caller asked me to contact the delivery service (no restaurant has ever asked me to do this before) but anyways I did.
I then still had no food an hour later so I called the restaurant's mobile number back. They assured me they would follow up and call me back but I received no call.
I felt like the restaurant was again passing all of the responsibility onto me when all I did was make the order. Then to add insult to injury, a stone cold ravioli turns up. What made it worse after waiting over 2 hours was that it was about 10 squares of pasta for $35. I might be being generous.
While the restaurant cannot handle what the delivery service does, I find the restaurant's poor level of customer service, pricing and serving quantity to be absolutely inadequate.

I ate here with two friends on a Thursday evening. The place was pretty busy but they accommodated us no problem. The wait staff were all in a good mood, very personable and chatty despite how busy they clearly were. The ambience was great everyone seemed to be enjoying their experience. Our waiter (The nephew of the chef) was super friendly and knowledgeable about both the food and wine. We order the burrata to share, ravioli and amatriciana! Everything was delicious including the recommended Sangiovese and the complimentary limoncello. My only regret is we had so much fun and got a bit tipsy that we left without leaving a tip!!! To the staff, if you’re reading, sorry about that, it was a simple oversight, not a reflection of your service or food! Will tip double next time!! Grazie Mille!

Absolutely recommend this restaurant. The food was delicious and service even better.
We had pizza and salad and the staff were very accommodating to two fussy and tired children who wanted pasta with no sauce!!
The restaurant is clean and has a lovely atmosphere. Thanks guys, we will definitely be back.

Dinner with friends was enjoyable at Guido on a quiet Monday night. The service was attentive with an obviously ‘proud to be Italian’ waiter (perhaps owner?) who was passionate about the menu and dishes on offer. We started with an antipasto platter which was filled with superior quality delights. We also shared a pizza which was a showstopper.
This was followed by mains....also delicious and a perfect portion. We shared a dessert and sat over coffee.
Service could have been a little quicker, particularly as not a busy night, but good food takes time to prepare properly.
Overall.....we enjoyed the food and experience and would return again.

This was a disappointing experience on many levels. We had 3 pastas and the rocket and pear salad.
The salad was laid flat on a plate and dressed with lots of olive oil and little balsamic. The pear was over ripe and mushy. I lived in Tuscany for a year and this salad wouldn’t be served in any home or restaurant there. $12.
The pastas were just meh. No love or passion in the ingredients or preparation. None of us finished the meal - which is virtually unheard of in our family.
To be fair, there have been lots of lockdowns in Melbourne and it is hard to find staff but nothing about our experience said anybody working in the kitchen knew anything about the basics of Italian food.
Tip to the chef - chunks of rabbit dont go with sultanas in a thin liquidy pasta “sauce” that was reminiscent of chicken stock cube.

We stayed in Melbourne for a few days after a cancelled conference. We found Da Guido 365 through reviews - and it lives up to every one of them. Service, prompt and friendly. Advice spot-on. And the food...splendid. We’ve been to Italy several times, and this is the best Italian I’ve had outside Italy.
The staff were excellent, warm and friendly, with good advice. We sat outside but they made certain we had the heater. The waiter brought fresh, hot bread (heavenly!) with homemade hummus and olives. The rocket and pear salad was big enough to share, and they gave us plates for that. It was delicious.
For vegetarians, I highly recommend the Mezzelune Di broccoli. I savoured every mouthful and wiped the sauce with more fresh bread they brought for me.
My husband had the Salumi pizza and loved it. We couldn’t fit dessert in, but wanted to! Next time we’re in Melbourne, we’ll definitely go again.

Found this on a top ten Italian restaurants in Melbourne, was not disappointed. Everything from the service to the atmosphere was perfect, and the food was something else. They started us off with some complimentary bruschetta, fresh cherry tomatoes on some small warm pieces of bread. Beautiful starter! We got some focaccia as a starter and it was cooked to perfection and was a good way to start the meal. We then had the carbonara which was very flavoursome, silky smooth and creamy texture. The pancetta melted in your mouth as you ate it. We also got the ametriciana pizza, it was beautiful combination of flavours which packed a serious hit to the pallet.
Over all the service, food and atmosphere was as close to perfect as you could get. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a reasonably affordable date or a restaurant to bring the family to.

Having visited Naples Italy in 2018 , the home of the world renowned Pizza, returning to Australia I longed to find a Melbourne eqivalent. After tasting many of what people claimed were award winning options, it was not until finding this gem hidden away in the heart of the CBD in Little Collins Street , that I finally found my own little Italy right here in Melbourne. Without doubt the best Pizza I have ever tasted in Australia. The lightest and most delicious pastry and toppings to make your mouth water and delight the taste buds. A must visit if you want to experience real authentic Italian cuisine of the highest standard, served with the most proficient and friendly service. Surrounded by pleasant decor and staff, a vast selection of wines and boutique Italian beer on offer. I could not fault this hidden treasure. Highly recommend as a must visit for lovers of Quality Italian Cuisine...

We didn’t have a booking for dinner which was a bit of a risk to on New Years Eve however the staff found us a table if we could be in and out under an hour and didn’t order the set menu. Easy!
Order a capricciosa and diavola (with N’dula and chilli oil) along with a couple of beers. Delicious pizza without question. Would certainly recommend and will return sometime when back in town. Thanks for finding us a table on a very busy New Year’s Eve!

In Melbounre business distric, easy to reach by tram. Nice place far from the noisy traffic, quite and pleasant. The italian owner welcomes you with the typical kind, warm and cozy hospitality. The menu is based on typically italian-mediterrean food with good wines. Serice is kind and professional. I recommend it.

An unpretentious but classy Italian restaurant.
Da Guido served me one of the most beautiful steaks that had a side garnish of salad and a taste of cheese.Service was first class and they had some well priced wines by the glass.
My meal came with an array of complimentary dips, olives and warm small fingers of freshly baked bread.
Da Guido have definitely made it onto my Melbourne roster of restaurants.

I booked this restaurant as they advertise freshly made pasta however what we received was chewy, bland and very disappointing.
The entree focaccia with tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella was yummy though and the pizzas looked good - we should have ordered them instead.
My husband gave the feedback that he was disappointed in the quality of the pasta and instead of accepting the feedback the staff turned very defensive and aggressive with a cook coming out of the kitchen with a snap lock bag of this supposed fresh pasta to prove to us it was fresh however it made a clanking sound when dropped on the bench very much like dry/packet pasta sounds. We were also surprised that there wasn’t a manager to speak to on a Saturday night.

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
