For a local fish and chip restaurant this was fabulous. Lovely service and incredibly fresh and delicious seafood! We had the bugs, calamari, chips and wine and were extremely happy and thought it was worth every dollar we spent. Which was very reasonable.
During the boring lockdown, I try to surprise the family with a different theme Saturday night dinner - complete with costumes and house decorations. Two weekend ago it was Spanish creviche (prawns and Hapuka). But last weekend was Greek night complete with togas! Melina from...The Fish House was brilliant - Octopus was tender and succulent, scallops, prawns, mussels and Melina's own calimari. I greek bbqed it - first time I had done octopus - really incredible, memorable tucker. I highly recommend the Fish House - Melina and George are helping us all get through this with their friendly advice for high quality food, amazing seafood - fit for a high priced seafood restaurant... but even I could do it from home! Fairly new to the south east and in a slightly strange location tucked between a good guys and bottle shop. There’s seating inside and out. Standard menu however the food is fresh especially the fish which was very very good. You’d pay probably $5-10 more...than usual but worth the extra cost.More

Was a bit disappointed by our meals. Expected a fantastic tasting platter, but received an average fish and chips, salt and pepper squid and below average white bait. Even the sauce for the squid was bland. Not particularly cheap also and combined with the fact...that there was no plates offered, no cutlery, overall I left disappointedMore

Not at all what expected. Dozen oysters Kilpatrick $30 shared entree for 2. Put in centre of table no plates or cutlery to eat. Cutlery in bucket on table only for mains and dessert. Very nice oysters. Just started and our main arrived. I advised...waiter requested not to come at same time. Oh sorry. I spoke to owner? Re this and blamed register system. Meal was huge. Battered fish Rockling excellent. $12.90 per piece. Orders are placed at counter then either outside, or inside order delivered. To me it is like a fish chip shop with meals delivered to table. I expected ( my mistake) more restaurant style for these prices.More
I've visited twice, firstly sampling the gummy fish and chips, then the lamb open souvlaki, and both meals were cooked perfectly. The fish was so fresh and flavoursome, and the lamb... mindblowing! It's probably the best lamb souva I've ever had. The team are very...friendly and helpful; nothing is too much trouble. This is my new favourite dinner spot!More
