Outrageously busy on the weekend evenings, but quieter during the week when we walked past. As a result quite noisy. From a current COVID perspective, no sign in evident or required and social distancing? Food was very good however the service was under staffed and...therefore hectic. When ordering from the digital menu, they had run out of rice!!!! No cheese nan bread, again a staple. Couldn't believe it, no lemon lime and bitters, not a big deal. Frequented by the Pakistani/Indian community so must be authentic. Just a note, not licensed.More

Ziyka is one of the first Indian restaurants that I tried in Melbourne. Maybe I was homesick for the first time, and I liked the food very much. But, the second time was a bad experience. The place has a very affordable menu compared to...many places in city, and it opens until late at night. The restaurant was full, and people were waiting in line to get seated. It's a budget restaurant and I can't talk about the ambiance. However, just for the readers, if you expect a silent and peaceful, excellent dining sort of place, then better to stay away. It isn't very quiet inside. The plates and glasses hard little bit of greasy thing on it, and that means it isn't cleaned correctly. We have been requested to move the tables in between as a massive group of people came for dining. Also, it took almost 30 minutes to get our order. The food ordered Chicken Karahi, Paneer Masala, Garlic Naan, and Butter Naan. The food was not at all up to the mark. I was expecting at least a fresh panner considering how busy this place is, and it was quite chewy. I felt like both chicken and paneer are not adequately marinated. It was as if they had used the same curry base for both the dishes and just changed the masala and put the pieces in later. The Paneer dish was awful, and my friend even stopped eating. The chicken curry was good enough, but the chicken is a bit overcooked. I took the Panner masala to take away as I wanted to have it later, and the moment I had a bite, I had to throw it out. I am not at all exaggerating but, this is my honest review. To the management, you guys got excellent crowd support and good business. Please don't ruin it by serving poor food. Also, please keep a signboard at the entrance, if it gets too crowded, saying the waiting to be expected. Some people don't have a lot of time to spare in the middle of the night. I don't understand why you guys don't take the card, and it's only cash in hand business. This is a huge downside for me, and it has to be changed.More

I stayed in Tourist St lahore in 2018. At Zikya, the samosa, chicken karahi (boneless), chicken tikka and malai botti are as close to Lahore as I have had in Melbourne. Other fabulous dishes include chicken ginger (not always on the menu), goat white special,...sesame kulcha and the daal tadka. Like in Lahore the dishes are tasty and spicy but not particularly hot. The decor is spartan. You can try and book the day before (they don't really take bookings much ahead of time), but best to arrive before 6.30pm as the place gets full at around 7pm. Also avoid Ramadan, as you won't be able to get a seat.More

November 2018, during our first ever visit to Australia (from KSA where I am working as an expatriate), to see our Son in Law, Daughter and their kids, we visited this Restaurant. The environment was typical as it should have been being a Pakistani Indian...style eating place. Menu was good enough in a mid price range. Seating capacity was not that much as should have been for the Asian type food lovers from sub continent, yet it was a good experience dining here.More

Ziyka was a pleasant surprise. It's a small restaurant that can hold 20-25 ppl max. This place is always busy. You can order from the menu ala-carte or from the deals on the display. The food is very flavoursome. The veg option is quite limited...here. We ordered a Paneer dish in veg and one of the chicken deals from the display. The paneer and the chicken dishes were too good. The naan bread that came with the deal, however, was the downside. Wasnt too good. In fact, the naan and roti ordered separately was so much better. I guess to make cheaper deals they cut down on the quality of the flour used to make deals with naan. The food is spicy, mind you! In short, its a good restaurant for non-vegetarian food. With limited veg menu, still not bad. Definitely worth trying.More

This busy, basic but clean restaurant has an extensive menu that will suit all tastes. All serves were cooked fresh, nicely presented and were very generous. The Chcken Karahi and Butter were rich and flavoursome and the lamb kebabs were delicately spiced, Friendly staff despite...it being hectic. The only minor grumbles were naan bread was not 'proper' and cash only. Very reasonably priced. Thanks for the vote if you found this review helpful.More

If you want real parmesan, cut from the block, grated
over your pasta with a twist of style, this is the
place. Until recently, this neighbourhood was home to
the notorious ‘Carlton Crew,’ a pseudo mafia who
started their day with a local espresso. They are
gone, but the espresso still runs strong in this
Little Italy which has something for everyone.
