Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An experience not to be missed. Ask any Melbournian and they’ll recommend Brunetti, an Italian dining experience that combines value with quality. There’s no table booking, so you just pitch up. Very busy at lunchtime peak, but many locals use it for takeaway pizza slices...and subs. The three of us had gnocchi with walnuts, ravioli, and paccheri. All excellent at around $28. Good service (you order at the counter and are given a number on a table stand, then the food comes to you). A remarkable display of cakes on the way in.More

My second time here. Very good cafe food. Buzzing and energetic. The service is good too. Coffee disappointing though.

Always love Brunetti. The food is good and service is too. Coffee is inconsistent in my experience. Atmosphere is great and its a beautiful room.

Tasteless pizza for 29 dollars, hardly any of the poor quality prawns on top. The beer was ok, but beer choices were very limited.

Well it's one second time to Melbourne on a Family trip. We couldn't wait to take my husband there to have breakfast and a sweet. We had the Eggs Benedict and he had the Pesto parma ham Eggs. I must admit it was great, a...little different from our first visit back in February but still good. I must admit her wasn't impressed with the sweets. The croisant was bland, the lobster tails cream was "mah" and then there was the puff pastry with strawberrys and cream. Still lovely. All in all still lovely, with room to be better and excel.More

Dear Brunetti. Please change your coffee beans! Aldi sells better coffee than you serve. Apparently your cakes are good, but now I'm reluctant.

Brunetti is arguably the most stylish bakery/cafe in Australia. The large space has been beautifully designed and it is a pleasure to people watch there. We had lasagne, fettucine napoli, NY cheesecake and a profiterole stack as a birthday treat. All very good. The fresh...focaccia was great. It's that sort of a place - a consistant standard with the occasional outstanding dish. Or you can just have a coffee and oggle. I love it.More

I visit Melbourne yearly. Brunetti is one of my must go to coffee shops. I love the cakes , the atmosphere , the quick self service .Always my first place to go . There are others in Lygon Street, Carlton and Myers department store, all...good. They are just a cut above the normal, of course its popularity means it is usually busy, may have to be patient to get a seat. Luckily it is quite big.More

Definitely an Italian vibe. Proper coffee roasts, storing ice cream the right way, large selection of cannelloni deserts, the iconic square pizza style and lots of sandwiches. Four stars only, because of the slow service, also I was dissapointed in the desserts being nothing special...(too sugary) and the overuse of the rocket in the sandwiches. I expect a tomato and mozzarella sandwich to be served with basil, not rocket. I understand it is a matter of taste, but would appreciate at least some vegetarian choices without this type of green. I ended up picking out the rocket from my snitzel sandwich, loosing out on a complementing taste. The salami sandwich was very tasty (after removing the rocket). The atmosphere is busy and lively (not for romantic lunches), the sorbet was absolutely mouthwatering. Will give another try to a different dessert, pizza and cooked food.More

I ordered a cake online for my mother's 80th birthday. I picked it up the next day and found that they spelt her name wrong. The mistake wasn't spotted by the team that sent the order or the one at Flinders when they received it....I pointed out the error and I was told they can't do anything about it at the Flinders location; that it was Brunswick's mistake. They also couldn't offer any refund on the price I paid. The manager told me that Brunswick would call the next day. They didn't, so I called the store again. The manager told me that she would personally call the Brunswick location the next day and make sure they reach out. They didn't. So not only did they not bother to ensure the quality of the order, but they then can't be bothered to follow up with me.More

Love the vibe and decor but the foods dropped off a bit. Lamb shank and pizza was a bit mediocre Cakes for dessert weren’t that great - bit bland and way overpriced. Coffee is always good though

Brunetti has been one of my favorite places to go in Melbourne. I fell in love with all their desserts since 2018, and every single year I come back to Melbourne, it's a must-visit place to satisfy your sweet tooth cravings!

There’s a vibe about Brunetti’s in Flinders Lane. It’s bustling and loud! Ideal for families - they even have high chairs! - it’s quite reasonably priced. But you’ll have to grab a table or stool at a communal table as soon as you arrive: and...then order! Your number will be called to collect a coffee - but the staff will deliver your food to the table. The backless stools are the provided seating, but if you get there at the right time, there’s a very comfortable banquette on one section of the restaurant. The coffee is magnificent - and the breakfast we ate were delicious.More

What a fantastic cafe/patisserie. Paid it two visits during our couple of days in Melbourne - once after a show for dessert and coffee, and once for a mid-morning coffee and cake. Both times the place was buzzing. The selection of cakes and such is...amazing. Despite being pretty bust bot times we didn’t have to wait long for the coffee.More

If you type in Brunetti Menu Melbourne it comes up with a menu. I love the Flinders Lane shop but the shop in Lyon St Carlton is my favourite. Both offer the same superb coffee and food. I hope this helps.
