Came down to Melbourne from Sydney for a long weekend and this was our first dinner out. From the moment we walked in we loved the atmosphere. All of our dishes were full of flavour and we enjoyed everything. The duck gnocchi was a huge...hit. The 5 course degustation dishes were perfectly described and were really enjoyable. Wine list and service was also excellent with lovely staff. Telling everyone to book now, we'll be back.More

Just simply one of the best in town it makes Spencer St sparkle. The welcome is warm and inviting, the service is excellent with a smile without being intrusive the servers knew their product well. The food was delicious, fresh and generous in serving. Reasonably...priced for the top quality and they have great wine list a mixture of wine from Italy and local vineyards in Australia. Abigail's service was excellent but so wash the other lady and man behind the bar. Highly recommended this for a nice ambience, food and service.More

Right from the minute we walked in the door the service was excellent, the menu was superb (not the usual old staples) When our food arrived it was presented well with perfectly sized proportions and the taste was fantastic. If you've not had Ox tongue...( Lingua) before, give it a try, possibly one of the best entrees I've ever had, followed by the Toothfish (Pesce) main which was perfectly cooked. Overall the entire evening was a great experience and I recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet place to have a romantic dinner for 2. Make sure you call and book in advance as this place is very popular and I think will become even more so in the future.More

We ate here last night - the 5 course degustation menu with paired wines. The food was superb. We ate gluten-free which wasn’t an issue - they substituted warm olives for bread to start which was nice. We started with scallops on a corn purée,...then smoked rainbow trout, followed by risotto with king prawns, a medium-rare steak and finished with a panna cotta which came with chocolate gelato. Each course was faultless, and the paired wines (4 Italian and a South Australian red) were of high quality and generous. The setting was romantic, the service brilliant with comprehensive explanations of each course and the accompanying wine. Do yourself a favour and pay this fantastic restaurant a visit! We’re already planning to go again, this time we’ll tackle the 9 course degustation - can’t wait! Price was very reasonable at AUD$105 per person for the food, the wine pairing was AUD$65 per person.More

My husband and I did the 5 course degustation meal and would absolutely recommend. The meals were amazing and each dish came out presented beautifully, portioned well and flavours balanced each other ever so naturally ! The service was what made the meal sing through.... Each person who served us did it with ease and were very knowledgeable. We felt very well looked after ! Loved the ambience of the restaurant, starting with the cosy nooks for a romantic dinner to larger tables for family catch ups . Some nice thoughtful touches to give the restaurant a cosy feel . Will absolutely be back !!! Has to be our favourite place nowMore

Nice table , friendly wait staff who knew the menu well. Very professional. What I like about this restaurant is that the staff are efficient but don’t keep “checking” and asking questions like “how’s your meal” etc. We liked that. Okay the food is awesome...- my wife’s prawn pasta was superb and my lamb was the best I’ve had. Actually the portions are large - I don’t think i could have eaten an entree. I had a chianti by the glass which was terrific and my wife had a pino Grigio also excellent. Really can’t fault this place. Will return!More

I would not, but I doubt there would be an objection. If shorts are necessary suggestion would be Lygon St. Piccolo Mondo. Great Food and a little more casual.
