It was 34 AUD for pasta. The bread was meh. The pasta was average at best. I should have went somewhere else. Way overpriced and overrated. I’m sorry but even the atmosphere is just so so. I understand the rent is high but the food...is soo lackluster.More

We dined at Lello Saturday night in the midst of coronavirus social distancing. It was obvious the restaurant had taken tables out to abide by the guidelines. Very warm welcome & attentive service throughout the service. We were 2 adults & 2 children 11 &...9. The staff were great with the kids. The food Is amazing. We shared an antipasto plate & calamari to start, incredible rabbit pasta & black ravioli for mains, the girls a pizza & fabulous gnocchi with ragu. The restaurant were giving a free dessert with each entree purchased. They too were fabulous.More

We come here every fortnight or so. Easily the most delicious tiramisu and the best cacio e pepe in town. They make their own stone-ground pasta from sprouted grains, and have many regional specialties I’ve never seen anywhere else. Melbourne CBD has many good pasta...places (eg Pentolina, Trattoria Emilia), but I have to say that this one is the best.More

We were looking for a restaurant that served homemade pasta & stumbled upon Lello en route to another spot. So glad we stopped here! The wait staff was very welcoming & very Italian. Our waitress was from Lucca, so we got to reminisce about our...fond memories together. The decor is stylish. The wine list offered a nice selection of Italian wines. The service was gracious, engaging when appropriate, but not overbearing. Let’s talk about the food. The salad was nicely dressed. My pasta was cooked perfectly, as I chose the cacio e peppe. My husband ordered the Ortolano pizza which was so delicate. The somewhat predictable offering of a cannoli was sublimely well executed. If you find yourself craving a great plate of homemade pasta while in Melbourne, come here!More

Some of the best pasta I’ve had in a very long while, with delicious salads, sides and the desert was to die for. I can’t recommend Lello, highly enough. We will definitely be returning here again, in the future.

My Husband & I were looking for somewhere to have a leisurely lunch after hitting the shops, boy are we so glad we chose here, we were warmly greeted by "Pietro" , and given a lovely table close to the kitchen. We could see all...the rows of fresh pasta, that had been handmade. Pietro assisted us greatly with special recommendations with our wine & food selections, We had a delightful bottle of Montepulciano, which perfectly complimented the wild mushrooms , with warm goats cheese, aged balsamic & arso focaccia & Smoked Rice, Veal & Mozzarella Arancini, these were both delicious. Followed by Blue Swimmer Crab, Lemon & Rocket Orecchiette, this was another recommendation, and it was insanely good , amazing fresh flavour and surprising light for a pasta dish. My husband opted for the Tagliolini Gippsland Rabbit & Sausage "Involtino and he loved it. What is very clear here, all the food is made with passion and this shines through with every mouthful. In terms of service "Pietro" provided some of the best service we have had the pleasure to encounter, his knowledge & passion made our lunch stop a very memorable one, we would not hesitate to return next time we are in Melbourne and will happily recommend. Lello make all their own pasta fresh daily by hand and it shows in the standard of the meals which are true italian oviously with quality ingredients done with finesse. Wide ranging wine list with aussie & italian wines. We enjoyed a vermintino for Sardinia...which minerally & crisp. I had the calamari for entree which was BBq'd with anchovies & capers, tender & just cooked & my partner had zucchini flowers. I had a special which was a buckwheat pasta where the flour had been party burnt with a pecorino & pepper sauce. Very unusual but tasty & satisfying. Srvice was friendly professional & knowledgeable. The kitchen is visible & the chefs were flat chat all night & great to watch. Pizza's all looked authentic itallian style & the bar was well patronised by local office worker, good range of beer & cocktails. A good find. We went back the next night & loved that too.More
