Poor response from management

Main meals were served to table whilst entree was still being consumed Whilst the entree was delicious the two main meals were anything but….. One meal came out floating in cream, and lacked Parmesan cheese, which had to be requested as well as a spoon...which was never produced The other meal, came out swimming in tomato paste, which was perhaps put there to cover the burnt dryness of the chicken Neither meal was enjoyable and both were barely half eaten One plate was not even taken away, until we requested the supervisor after about a fifteen minute wait Supervisor explained why the pasta meal was missing egg, but quickly whisked the chicken meal away to the kitchen Unfortunately no apology was provided to us and no further feedback was forthcoming upon payment of the meal Overall very disappointingMore

Staff verbally abusing other staff in front of customers

We spent thousand of dollars on a team lunch. There was an outstanding amount of $120 for those who were unable to use the barcode system for payment. This amount needed to be split by 4 people and one of the worker did this after...we made a request for it. He wasn’t happy about it but he did it. Another worker at the restaurant starting verbally abusing and screaming at the staff member for splitting the bill. It was horrific to watch. It was frightening. It was disgusting. Team members were frightened and scared by the verbal violence and verbal abuse. I cannot believe in this day and age that anyone thinks it is okay to treat another human being like this is front of paying customers. And because of that, I could not recommend going to La CameraMore

A lovely Italian eatery

We have been here many times over the years and it is always a great place for groups and for pre theatre dining. All of our waiting staff were great and the food very good. They do clearly mark gluten free items of which there...are quite a few. It is a little disappointing they don’t offer a gluten free pasta option, pizza bases or a gf beer which many restaurants do. Will definitely be returning.More

GREAT EXPERIENCE

If I was asked to recommend a restaurant for a night out. It would be La Camera. The food excellent, the service was spot on and the staff are very friendly. The waiting time for you meal after I had places my order was very...quick and came to you hot and fresh.More

Friendly staff and great food

We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we walked through the door. Menu was explained well and lovely recommendations for wine too. Great pizzas and a lovely salad washed down with a bottle of Shiraz. Our waiters were so personable and chatty....A lovely, relaxed place to eat.More

Delightful Italian Family Dining

A really lovely evening with beautiful food. Linguine Pescatore, home-made Lasagne and (the melt in the mouth) Beef Cheeks all full of flavour and fabulous. Staff were very friendly and efficient, and the recommended wine was perfect.

Birthday

We booked our daughters 21st and we all had a a great night. The staff were great, the food was great and it was served at the same time, which was important as we had 16 people. The atmosphere was fantastic and everyone had a...great time. We were not rushed. A fantastic night . A huge thank you to Joe and Paul for accomodating us. Would not hesitate attending and having another function at La Camera.More

Jazz & Shiraz at La Camera

La Camera’s Jazz & Shiraz night on 25th October was a fun night to meet up with friends. Wine tasting from a range of suppliers was excellent as was the food on menu. Listening to the warm jazz sounds from Clinton Fry added another dimension...to an already warm and inviting environment. Staff were very friendly and professional and did their utmost to accommodate last minute changes to bookings as well as providing helpful and exceptional food and bar service. Excellent value for a fun night out with friends. Highly recommended!More

Great dinner with family

Special Celebration at the very beautiful La Camera.

We arrived there for a special celebration and were not disappointed. The food was first class in a beautiful Italian style. As we were there for a celebration, they made us feel welcome almost like extended family. This made our night. It was a beautiful...venue for our large group.More

Authentic Italian food in a stunning setting with water views.

I just love always coming back to this place, I’ve been coming here for years. The service is wonderful and the food extremely well cooked as well as generous portions. There are beautiful views from the balcony overlooking the Yarra River, so beautiful with all...the lights on a warm evening. Could sit here for hours eating dinner as the sun sets down over the waters.More

Lovely Italian

Disappointed

We attend this restaurant regularly and enjoy very hearty, homecooked pastas. The meals have changed. The meal was substandard, dry and with little substance. I booked on line and when I asked if we could seat outside for our international guests to view the Yarra...they said, no as they were fully booked. We watched 3 tables on the balcony be empty for our entire stay. Nice waiter.More

An exceptional experience

My grandson has his 21st birthday a week or so earlier. He and his sister lived south of Melbourne; we lived in the Ballarat region. We agreed to meet at La Camera because he was a pizza fan. They travelled in by train, and we...did the same from up north. We hadn't seen them for a number of years due to Covid-19 and health issues. It was absolutely wonderful to see them both and La Camera was the perfect place. We enjoyed an entree, then the main meal and followed up with a delicious dessert. We had drinks all round and the atmosphere and ambience were just perfect. The staff were so helpful and courteous. There were no delays with our food or drinks. The food was exceptional, and we all walked away so much happier for the La Camera experience. It was great to see our grandchildren and it was made even more special by having a wonderful and rewarding dining experience. Full marks 10/10.More
