Hopefully this was a one off evening as previously we have found La Camera quite satisfactory. On entry the staff were enduring all patrons were registering on the Covid app. This was an excellent start. From the outset we informed the staff that we had...a deadline for a theatre . This did not phase the friendly and helpful staff. However, perhaps the tight timetable caused some shortcuts. The Chicken Parmigiana, and the Veal cotoletta di vitello seemed to have been precooked, then reheated for plating up. Both were dry and the chicken in particular quire tasteless. Come again? not sure after this visit.More

It was such a delight to enjoy an evening at Southbank sitting in the balcony area overlooking magnificent views of the Yarra River whilst we all enjoyed the dulcet tones of live saxophone music and delicious happy hour cocktails. The food was impossibly delectable. The...aracinis, croquettes and focacias were crowd pleasers. The wines and cocktails sublime and my porchetta main meal off the charts outstanding. Service and ambiance made our dining experience a 9.5 out of 10!!More

We celebrated my mum’s 70th birthday here and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was fantastic. We had a couple of gluten free people and one dairy free child. They were very accommodating and were thorough in their explanations as to which foods were gf...and df. Thanks for a memorable dinner.More

Some of the very best customer service we have ever experienced in Australia. The calamari was exquisite, the lasagna was perfect. Unfortunately the seafood linguine was disappointing bland in comparison to the other dishes. When this was brought to the attention of staff, they listened...patiently to our concerns. By way of apology, they were kind enough to give us a complimentary dessert. The canolli was delicious. Cannot fault the service from every staff member. Will definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant.More

We has eaten at La Camera for lunch several times. We were given a menu, which was fairly mundane, so we asked for the lunch menu We were told that they no longer had a lunch menu. A simple parma was over $30 and a...meal with drinks would have cost around $100, much more than we were willing to pay for lunch, so we walked out.More

Wow it’s wonderful to see LaCamera so vibrant. They have done a truly incredible job through 2020. The service is always professional and friendly. My current favourite is the patata pizza. Looking forward to my next visit.

Every time we visit La Camera we feel reassured. The quality is always fantastic, the atmosphere always welcoming and inviting, and the staff are always polite, friendly, and professional, but still make you feel like a friend of the restaurant. I could go on about...the pizza for days. When we want good pizza, there really is nowhere to go but La Camera if you want delicious, perfectly cooked, well balanced pizza that doesn't sit like a brick in your stomach. That's to say nothing of the rest of the menu, which is also brilliant. For celebrations, romantic dinners, and any other excuse to get your hands on some delicious pizza, ragu, or gnocchi, this is the place to do it. My partner and I had our first date here, and we have had many more since, with who knows how many to come.More

So excited to be out and about again after having been locked in for months. A group of good friends were meeting for lunch, and expecting great food and service. Unfortunately the food did not meet our expectations. I chose: Linguine Alla Pescatora $ 36.00...Fresh linguine tossed with mussel meat, calamari, diced fish, garlic, chilli, crowned with Australian prawns and extra virgin olive oil. (without the chilli) it arrived looking dried up as if it had been sitting for a while. The prawns were few and tiny also dried up. Friends also had meals not up to expectations - eg risotto. "Not the worst she has ever had, but not the best". Another 2 friends chose: Scaloppine Saltimbocca $ 35.00 Pan-fried veal topside with prosciutto, sage, white wine and finished with butter served with zucchini trifolati [slow cooked zucchini with garlic, mint and basil]. One friend said it was not worth the money, being mainly zucchini.... These meals were not cheap - so expected better. The waiters tried hard - but gave the friend who organised it a white wine, when she ordered red. Another friend had ordered a soft drink and it didn't come.....had to request it again. I decided to try a dessert - since I love Tiramisu - unfortunately it did not match my memories of this delicious dessert. The main guy in charge was lovely and did his best. BUT definitely would not go again. Thought with nearing the end of COVID the food would have been much better wanting customers back in the city.More
