So good we went back the next day. Memorable fried barramundi in special sauce, kangkong belachan and spinach belachan, pork hock stew etc. Noisey and busy.

Stayed near by and I was surprised by the lack of eating choices. This was the best of a bad lot, dinner for two, which was two mains and one glass of house wine was $66. Not cheap.

Walked in and had a yummy quick, fresh meal. No problem to make a dish for me without foods I'm allergic to and quick service so we got to the movie without rushing.

The last time I visited this joint was 3 years ago. How time flies. Today's, with my Favourite couple. I decided we visit red hot wok. My other Favourite restaurant along the same street is pacific seafood. The calamari with salt n pepper wasn't bad. Prawns with duck eggs were yummy too. Chicken ribs. Their signature was pretty good but... More

Heard that there was a good Malaysian place in this location, and other Tripadvisor reviews would suggest it is this restaurant. However, the roti (canai) tasted like it was warmed from frozen (like you buy in Asian supermarkets), though was surprisingly reasonable. We had the sizzling tofu and Malaysian chicken curry as mains. There was nothing sizzling about the tofu,... More

Whilst this small, bustling and friendly place has a range of great dishes e.g. curry laksa, chilli crabs, beef rendang, nothing is as satisfying for me as a plate of hot white rice with this awesome okra dish.Take my word.

Went there with family, unfortunately were seated next to a table of 10 raucous guys drinking beer. Tables are laminated fake wood and very simple decor. Staff were friendly and food timely. Ordered a mix if dishes including, San choi bau, spring rolls which were pretty average. The mains faired better with a good beef rendang. Had a lemongrass chicken... More

Staying in Chapel Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Chapel Street
Seek and ye shall find! Prahran is a treasure hunter’s paradise of vintage stores, upscale boutiques and emporiums. Chapel Street is a one-stop shop with specialty stores selling just about everything. The famous Chapel Street Bazaar has so many curious and vintage knick-knacks that you will feel as if you're in a huge and busy museum. By contrast, at the northern end of Chapel Street, South Yarra and Windsor cater to high-end designer labels and exclusive boutiques. The community flocks to Prahran’s organic markets as a Saturday ritual, while art and film students leaf through vinyl LPs on Greville Street. The gay community also has a strong presence here. Prahran’s heritage buildings like the Reads Emporium and Prahan arcade offer a grand sense of scale and history. No matter your interest, come feel the pulse of one of Melbourne’s most loved precincts.
