Love their little shop in South Melbourne Market. Tried different pastry and love them all. Good quality, good customer service. It's bi pricey, but this is what you pay for quality and delicacy. I'm their customer for the last 3 years and never get disappointed.

The throngs of people queued orderly outside this market stall should have given it away. If there was any doubt, seeing the lines of pastry treats in the display should have sealed it. One mouthful confirmed it. This place makes and sells heaven!

Had heard of Agathe from a friend so when we visited Melbourne and were staying close to the South Melbourne markets it was on our list of places to visit. The market is a well organised location with restaurants along Cecil street and a lot...of small eateries inside the market space. Agathes shop had a long queue but with many staff on hand servie was quick - very popular place. Not a restaurant but a shop to buy pastries to take away or if you can find a spot to sit down, eat it out of the bag. We chose a pandan custard pastry, a few danish and were tempted to try more. They lasted until the next day. Superb quality and variety. Agathe has a tiny shopfront i nthe Royal arcade but that has limited opening hours and supplies. Go to the market and see the staff preparing and baking and the full range of exquisite pastry, cakes and some savoury food. Yum.More

A must try in the South Melbourne markets. Usually a line to get your order but worth the wait. I've been a few times and waited about 15 minutes each time. While waiting you can view the freshly made pastries on display and decide what...you want. You can also see into the kitchen and watch the pastries being prepared. The chocolate croissant is a standout with a fluffy airy filling and a buttery crispy exterior complimented with the perfect amount of chocolate in every bite. For something a little different try the pandan croissant.More

Worth the trip to come here. . Truly the croissant - crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside- is the best there is . The chocolate filled croissant was dry. Everything else paled to the simple well baked plain croissant . Bring your cheese...and whatnots ... and your own napkins !More

The line for this place is always long but it moves fast so don’t let that deter you. They always have fresh batches coming out of the oven and the food practically melts in your mouth. The apple crumble and croissants we got were fantastic.

The pastries are very good, but a bit greasy for my taste. The store is located within a Food Court - Market and has other varieties of products.

Best croissants in Melbourne! After reading several foodie comparison reviews, we decided to do the same comparing it along side the famed Lune Croissant. And we agree! The patisserie located inside the South Melbourne Market is relatively small, but the usual long queues a giveaway....Agathé also has a tiny location in the city CBD (best get there early before they sell out) Lots of beautiful patisserie delights, all amazing.More
