Freshly made muesli with a range of dairy-free milk options. Friendly service, a peaceful atmosphere. I am not a coffee connoisseur but my long black was perfectly good. Prices are very reasonable, too!

We went for breakfast. Positives: Coffee was very good. Food was excellent quality. Areas to improve: Meal size. The avocado on toast was the smallest serving I have seen. I acknowledge it was not expensive. The service could be more welcoming, be more engaged in...More

I visited this "salad" spot after reading the consistently good reviews and they were spot on. Friendly service, bright and casual, felt absolutely ok as a solo diner too. Simple menu but enough choice to have a tasty, fresh and interesting meal. Not inexpensive but...More

I stopped at the Hunters' Root during my short stay in Melbourne. I had a delicious smoothie bowl but also had the opportunity to chat with the lovely couple that manage the place. I would totally recommend this authentic and tasty place!

Great small cafe and very friendly service! I had an avocado toast, a green smoothie and coffee to go, whereas my partner had the toasts with ham. As a vegan with non-vegan partner I especially appreciate such places, where both have plenty of choice. Loved...More

Our foodie hipster daughter found Hunters' Roots and wanted to give it a try, so we went there and it was really really nice. You can assemble your own "bowl" with what ever makes you happy. One downside is that - when you come a...More

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways

throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air
