An old mechanic’s shed and turns out some of the nicest surprises you can imagine in meat dishes. It might be mistaken for a South US barbecue house, but the style is particular to Melbourne and Victoria. Try the smoked meat platter. They pull the...More

Great atmosphere, very nice food and great service. Only criticism would be that it’s very expensive for food and alcohol. Small meat platter for two $95 and $14 for a glass of wine.More

We had a great meal - sharing platter for two which was delicious but the stand out was what happened next. It was the weekend of the Melbourne F1 and I inadvertently left my VIP pass in the restaurant. The Meatworks head chef tracked me...More

My husband and i dined here last night. Being a Wednesday night it was not busy, but suited us well. Waitress was helpful and the food was excellent. Was our first time here but will be here again.

If you like your bar b que slow, low, smoky and Texas style, then Meatworks is pretty good. The brisket was first class and the sides relatively authentic. The sausage could have had a bit more snap in the casing, but overall a pretty good...More

South Melbourne
South Melbourne hosts the city’s oldest continuous
market, founded in 1867. Rows of neatly arranged
fruit, vegetables and flowers splash yellows, greens
and reds along the entire perimeter, where the whole
neighbourhood gathers for Saturday feasts. Inside the
hall, shoppers hover over the mouth-watering displays
of delicatessens and specialty food shops. Further in,
