Our first evening meal in Hobart was at Syra and our taste buds were richly rewarded. As a family of 4, we ordered 2 main meals, 3 small plates and bread with humus to share. Everything just burst with flavour from the chermoula chicken to the slow roasted lamb. What an exquisite cacophony of flavours and tastes! The house-made humus was the best I have ever had. Combine all this with professional and courteous service at a great price point and you have a wonderful recipe for success. Highly recommended.

This is our go to restaurant in Hobart. Delicious fresh beautifully presented dishes with excellent service. As we love middle eastern food we look forward the dining at this restaurant and make sure we book a table well in advance. Recommend the fried cauliflower, Persian lentils,chermoula chicken.

Really enjoyed our dinner here. Prices were at the higher end but worth it, as everything was delicious, from the usual hummus and cauliflower dishes to the tasty garlic prawns. Would have loved to return but were sadly not in town for long. Tables outside if the weather is nice, and a pleasant ambience inside. Definitely recommend

Looking fo somewhere to dine we discovered Syra just behind Salamanca place. Warmly welcomed, we took the suggestion of our host with the fried cauliflower with tahini & sesame seeds - sensational flavours! We also had the squid which was served on a delicious bed of black barley, Zhoug and mint, very tasty. The highlight though was the spiced duck! Never tasted duck like it! Our hosts were very attentive, friendly and gracious. Looking forward to another visit soon!

This restaurant stands the test of time. Don't go often but each time we do (over several years) we are never disappointed. Consistently attentive and professional service, tasty, interesting dishes, delicately plated. Booking advised as it appears to always be busy - a reflection of loyal patronage. Highly recommended.

Our business group chose Syra based on previous good reports and we weren't disappointed. The service was attentive, the food very filling and the restaurant was fully booked. The only small point is that you need to be aware that when selecting your choice of menu, there are a lot of filling, meat dishes that come toward the end of the dining experience. As such, our party of 10 was challenged to eat everything! Price wise, this is not a cheap restaurant but on balance, it was a very good dining experience. Recommended.

Amongst the best Middle Eastern food I've ever had!
My wife and I went out for dinner, were well looked after by the staff and the range of drinks were good. But the food is exceptional. We had the shoulder of lamb, a chicken dish and the fetoush salad - all expertly done with such fresh and alive taste.
If you like Lebanese or Middle Eastern cuisine, Syra is a must.

We had an incredible meal at Syra this week whilst visiting Hobart. I LOVE middle eastern food, and was very excited to see that Syra was here. We went to book online, and saw that the bookings we full for a 6pm sitting. I added my name to the waitlist, and had a call within the hour looking to see if they could accommodate us (which they could fit 5pm). We went on a Saturday night at 5pm, and hubby and I enjoyed the 'feed me' option. Every single plate was utterly delicious. The lamb took it to a whole other level. We added a dessert (apple pastry with pistachio icecream) which was also delicious, and a lovely Shiraz to boot.
Service was excellent, with our waiter providing colouring for our daughter, recommending something simple and yummy for her, endlessly topping up our sparkling water the moment the bottle was empty, allowing us to taste different wines to help us decide on the glass, and providing some excellent tips for our trip around Tassy.
Great little atmosphere too. It's cosy but not crammed.
Thank you for a wonderful meal and experience at Syra.

You must go and experience and enjoy the wonderful food at this restaurant.
We love middle-eastern food and saw that Tripadviser recommended this as one of the best restaurants in Hobart. On our first night dining in we experienced fantastic service and amazing food. We loved it so much that we booked another night there – on our second night we were greeted by the owner who remembered us from two nights before and we experienced the same excellent service and amazing food. We ordered different dishes each night and couldn’t fault any of it. Highly recommend.
I also must add that catering to dietary needs was not a problem, they were more than happy to accommodate.

Visited this restaurant as a group of 4 on a Saturday night. Booked the table well in advance. Restaurant was very busy. Ordered a mixture of small and large dishes including hummus, Chermoula chicken, charred squid, fatoush salad, and slow cooked lamb shoulder, but the star of the show was definitely the spiced duck. Amazing flavours and interesting dishes. Not your average middle eastern cuisine. Wine selection was good also and night was capped off with tasty desserts and Turkish coffees. Service was very good. Very enjoyable experience. Will be back when next in Hobart.

We (party of 4) enjoyed our evening at Syra. It was in the middle of the week. Nevertheless, the restaurant was quite busy. The prices are fairly high for food and wine. The four of us shared 3 entrées, 2 main courses and a couple of side dishes. This was more than enough. The food was great. The service was friendly, professional and speedy. As I said, not cheap, but it was delicious.

My husband and I dined at Syra tonight. Trying to choose from the extensive menu was too hard so we went with the chef’s Feedme five course option. Best decision - so many delicious dishes such as the cauliflower, the wagu, the chargrilled fish and the fresh salad accompaniments. To finish it all off we managed to squeeze in their lovely crème caramel dessert. Service was impeccable - friendly, knowledgeable and not intrusive. Would recommend.

Packed with flavoursome dishes, excellent choices and great wine list. We chose the Feed Me menu, delightfully delivered. The Cauliflower, calamari, slow cooked lamb shoulder absolutely perfect, and that dessert!! Still talking about it days after. Highly recommend the Lebanese Reds, incredibly interesting.

We shared the cauliflower and squid entrees followed by the slow cooked lamb , chicken and double cooked potatoes. All were amazing . Especially the cauliflower . Best we have ever had. Definitely worth a visit when in Hobart.

We got lucky and were able to get two seats for the 8pm seating....a small and personal restaurant with very attentive and friendly staff.
First impression was very good and it stayed the whole night.
The menu has a lit to offer and the wine selection offers Tasmanian wines that go very well with the dishes. Choose a Riesling and fully enjoyed the wine and the dishes muhumma, squid and the artichokes. Full of flavour. I was blown away by the risotto of baley , simply stunning!!!! Loved it!
The 2nd main we had was the NZ fish, squid and prawn. Beautiful!
Highly recommend Syra to any lover of good food!
