We got a Fishermans basket and one of the fresh seafood platters with oysters, prawns, sushimi salmon and seafood sauce. Firstly the fishermans basket was ok, not brilliant, not lousy , but ok. Probably wouldn't buy again. But the seafood platter, WOW! Fresh oysters that tasted awesome, nice prawns and sushimi salmon. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Cost 49.00 for both, plenty... More

$24 for a piece of fish, chips and salad in a box. Way too expensive. The fish was good, the serve was too small and really the price can't be justified. This is take away. Disappointed Particularly in the setting of noisy and crowded tables. You order at the counter wait for the buzzer-disk to be called. They try to... More

Mures lower deck is located at a very convenient place, near brooke st pier franklin wharf hobart. It is a place where traveller can get affordable simple seafood fare. The attracting point for the lower deck, one can be dazed by the 32 flavours of ice cream !!!! That makes one spoilt for choices :)

Stopped in for breakfast. I was staying over the road for work but prefer to go outside of the hotel for breakfast. Not keen on bacon from a bain-marie. This place was good. A variety of choices, including some cereals. All freshly cooked, good size serve with options. The coffee was very good and they had the large mug option!... More

This is the place for greasy battered seafood. The pumpkin salad was lovely. We won't be back. Shame as the location is beautiful.

The worst lunch I have ever had, belt fed food and nothing was fresh or had taste. I'm surprised I wasn't feeling a little sick after eating here. Don't be fooled by the nice fresh looking seafood in the cabinet because I'm not sure who gets that, we certainly didn't. Even the bread was stale.

It's a pretty straight forward fish and chips restaurant with a few alternatives. There are a few choices for the fish, including Southern Blue Whiting and Trevalla. You have to order tartare sauce separately, but tomato sauce is complementary. The chips aren't the best ever; some of them were a bit soggy.

Reasonably priced breakfast fare, and good coffee from the cafe section. Also enjoyed very inexpensive, quality ice cream/gelato instead of paying ridiculous dessert prices in a restaurant. It was absolutely delicious and very generous serves. Can't complain, its a great money saving spot in a city that makes Sydney prices look reasonable.

Tiny portion for a $22 meal. I asked for the 12.90 fish and chips special and was told that it wasn't available. The 18-20 year old working the toll was unwilling to offer any substitutes. When the meals arrived I queried my fathers meal - they had given him the 12.90 special in lieu of the $22 blue eye. Thankfully... More

Fish & Chips were average, though Mures is really famous among travellers. But gelato was fantastic! Heaps of flavours to choose from! Service could be improved though :)

Jill & George Mure opened Tasmania's first licensed seafood restaurant, Mures Fish House, in 1973 in Hobart. When they struggled to source quality, fresh, local seafood, George went fishing.

More than 40 years on, now owned by Will & Jude Mure, Mures remains a favourite of locals and visitors alike, located in Hobart's working fishing port at Victoria Dock. Mures' philosophy of fresh Australian seafood, sourced from sustainably managed fisheries still rings true from the ocean to the plate.

At Lower Deck you can enjoy a wide variety of seafood from the licensed Bistro, including Mures' own line caught blue eye trevalla, as you take in the sights and sounds of the waterfront. Start the day off right with breakfast by the docks, served daily from 7am. Check out the vast array of Australian seafood at the Fishmongers including rock lobster, salmon, scallops and mussels, where you can order freshly shucked Tasmanian oysters from the Oyster Bar. Mures' own range of gourmet seafood products, Tasmanian wines, cider and recipe books are also available. Finish off with a local roasted coffee or choose from 32 flavours of ice cream at the Cafe.
