The end of COVID restrictions enabled us to enjoy a family dinner. Service was friendly and although a little slow we were offered a complimentary garlic pizza to compensate. All our meals were freshly prepared and really tasty with individual preferences accommodated. Will definitely return.

This place is amazing, the food is great the service, perfection. We arrived with out a booking just before 6pm. Our gracious host sat us at a table and made sure we were perfectly cosy, not too hot, not too cold. He was chatty, but not too much. The service was fast. The food, delicious. the gnocchi was so so so good. The pizza devine. I could see myself there in the summer outside with a glass of wine away from the noise of Salamanca, with friends. I cannot recommend hearth enough.

Came Friday night had not been for a while 6 people in the whole restaurant on a Friday night 45 minutes for a pizza as a starter then another 45 mins until mains disappointed is an understatement. Looks like the place had changed hands young waitress tried hard table beside us asked for coffee and tea sorry we do not serve hot beverages. There are much better restaurants in Hobart won’t be back.

We visited Hearth on Saturday night. It wasn't busy. Not more than 10-15 covers in the restaurant. Unfortunately, that appeared to be too much for the restaurant to handle as the food service broke down. All credit to the LONE waitress who was rushed off her feet trying to cater to the customers and compensate for the poor kitchen.
We ordered pizzas and waited and waited and waited......you get the point. The table next to ours had to ask for their food because their 2-hour parking was expiring in half an hour.
We finally got our pizzas. I was disappointed. It was not much better than Dominoes.

We waited over 1.5hrs for our meal that never arrived. There was one person working front of house, who was friendly but harried. After over an hour of waiting with no update, I went inside to check on our meal & waited over 5 mins for service. The waitress came out with half a pizza to apologise for the delay, which was a nice gesture but it was one of the spiciest pizzas I have ever eaten. After a number of disgruntled patrons walked out with their meals not arriving either & asking how long we had been waiting, we gave up too.
Not sure is this was Covid short staffing but the total lack of communication was terrible. We left hungry & frustrated. Should have walked 200 extra meters and eaten in Salamanca place instead.

Should have realised when we arrived for a 6pm booking and the place wasn't open that things weren't 100% OK. Person arrived at 6:05 to open up. We were shown to a seat and given a menu which was sadly lacking in what we expected from the "write ups" of this restaurant. The wine list was paltry but we "soldiered on" and ordered - should never have gone that far. The person who took our order gave us drinks then disappeared. A couple came in looking for a table - rang the bell, looked out the back for someone, called out, etc. but after 10 minutes no one had appeared so they left. The original person eventually reappeared with our meals which were a complete disappointment. The gnocchi wasn't cooked properly and the chef must have spilt the pepper pot in it. My meal had pappardelle with it which also hadn't been cooked properly as there were some hard bits in it. And, the meals were only just above lukewarm. What we thought was going to be a nice night out was a complete disappointment.

Very strange experience with a very friendly staff. Restaurant was booked for a private function but they let us in. Pizzas took a long time to come in. Not amazing taste.

We all chose meals from the menu and after waiting 30+ minutes before being told they couldn’t cook our meals due to kitchen issues but could provide pizza. The pizzas were fantastic so we were happy.
However, speaking to other friends who has also been in January, they had the same experience.
Do they have a kitchen???? I think they should stick with a simple pizza menu.

We went here on a Tuesday night and were very pleased with the quality of the food and service. It has a fairly simple menu and we had starters and then mains including pizzas, pasta and salmon.

Had just gotten into Hobart so rocked up just as they were closing. They were nice enough to stay open to make me a pizza which was delicious! Can definitely recommend!
