As locals we visit this Restaurant regularly .. hope visitors get better service!! ..we were mostly ignored.. plates not removed .. even though we were only people left in the restaurant ..no one came to see if we wanted anything more There loss as we...went elsewhere .More

My Grand Daughter works here so we thought lunch would be a good idea. Service, Food, Ambience was excellent. One of the best we have been to. Thoroughly recommend.

Food and service were excellent. Only slight downside was that it was very noisy. Overall a lovely evening. Marina was superb!

Great location. I read some of the poor reviews with interest. I think the good outweighs the bad. Tue service provided by the waiter Matt was excellent. Food was very good . No complaints. Would recommend a visit.

Brussetta was just like French toast, no tomato (unbelievable) Main courses not even worth commenting on as so non-authentic. Packet pasta, frozen sea food, so bland no taste at all. Wine prices astronomically over priced. Tourist Cafe at best. No I think I would be...insulting cafes as it was so poor for a restaurant.More

Firstly we had a very charming & lovely waitress who looked after us well. That helped us have a very enjoyable evening. The location is excellent in Salamanca Pl. The food & wine were very good. My only qualms were around a lack of tomatoes...in the seafood pasta, a first world complaint admittedly! Recommended.More

Our dinner at Maldini capped off an otherwise faultless 4 days in Hobart dining at plenty of good nearby restaurants. Anna the waitress, who has a serious attitude problem and seems to feel above the whole ‘waitress thing’, was rude from the getgo. The beer...was flat, the cocktails tasted like premix and the food was atrocious. Fresh ingredients are clearly not on the menu here. Pasta overcooked (my partner’s linguini was horribly overcooked), prawns were tough and tasteless. Anna basically just thrusted an eftpos machine in our face after sending our food back, no apology, no discount ..nothing, despite the dish being sent back virtually untouched. A miserable little restaurant with staff that wouldn’t be worthy of a McDonalds drive through.More

Great little restaurant, food was sensational, service was good and atmosphere was good too. Would definitely go again when next in Tassie.

Having dined at Maldini's for years and always had a lovely experience, we were shocked this time by the rude, unskilled, and sullen staff, lengthy delays, warm wine on a hot night, absolute lack of interest in hospitality. Our booking had been "lost" and on...arrival no table was reserved for us. No apologies or concern were evident, and we had to show ourselves to a vacant table, where we waited for a ludicrous length of time before I finally chased the lazy waitress and asked to place our order. The intrusion seemed to cause resentment as we were subjected to sloppy service and blatant rudeness for the duration. The food was bland and tasteless, with sauces and condiments clearly our of a jar rather than made in house. Top prices for a rock bottom experience. A formal complaint was met with stoney silence. Give Maldini's a wide birth. It's rubbish.More

Managed a walk up booking (difficult at this time of year!). The restaurant has a great (if not quite authentic) modern italian feel, and was packed when we were there. The food is the standout - excellent! Great flavours and good presentation with good serving...sizes. Would definitely eat here again!More

Such wonderful waitresses couldn’t be more obliging . Best meal I’ve had in a long time and I’m so fussy .if I wasn’t leaving tomorrow I’d be back

The waiter suggested the Spaghetti Marinara, saying it was his favourite. Well , it turned out to be the worst Marinara I've ever had, mainly some very ordinary fish and a watery cream sauce. Very Disappointed! I'm wondering if the staff are told to push...a dish that is the most profitable for the owners. I would not recommend this place in any circumstance.More
