The restaurant had special promotion on Sunday so we went for a trial. The fruit was fresh and the bread was delicious. The chef tried his best to cook congee and boiled egg for tourists from China but he had no talent on Chinese dishes. We suggested that he concentrated to make buffet with sushi if possibe.

We were in Hobart visiting family and wanted to try somewhere we haven't been. We usually steer clear of the large hotel chain restaurants as their menu's are usually all standard Aussie fare, but Embers really surprised us. The menu was quite extensive, even delving into wood fired pizza (the chorizo and squid pizza was AWESOME!). The staff were very... More

I had my first breakfast in Tasmania here, and it was honestly quite lacking. Similar to my comment on the Berlin Meinenger hotel, they need to stop serving chinese food (someone tell me why they do this). They should serve up local foods, which is interesting for tourists, easy to find ingredients for, which makes it cheaper and fresher, making... More

I ate at the restaurant one night due to other places in Hobart closing their kitchens by 8.30pm. A warning for those coming from Melbourne where eating options are abundant and at later times. Daylight saving doesn't reflect on Tasmanian dining patterns. Embers I found average and I wouldn't ordinarily have eaten there if other places were open.

I ate at this restaurant, which is in the lobby of the Best Western hotel in Hobart. I did this out of necessity, and would recommend it only in that event. Thinking I would be safe, I ordered a hamburger with fries. The fries were fine, but the hamburger was quite greasy and almost flavorless. I also had a glass... More

We're staying at the Best Western and after a long day out, thought we'd just eat downstairs. Great choice! We went down for dessert last night and the chocolate pancakes were awesome. Tonight I had the lamp rump and hubby had the catch of the day. Both meals were presented beautifully and my lamb was very good ! Hubby says... More

Great food for a hotel restaurant. Staff were friendly and professional. The service is pretty quick and their menu offers plenty of options. Atmosphere was ok and the restaurant decor is fairly modern. Good for casual and relaxing dining.

Reasonably priced buffet breakfast with no frills but does cater partly for Asian tastes and opens at 6.30 am.

As locals we have been here numerous times over the past few years as the meals were reliably good - especially the steak. We went tonight and the meal started with the house bread.....blurh....no salt? Stale? and why would you oil/butter bread to grill it prior to serving it with herb butter and sun dried tomato butter....for $11, just don't... More
