Decided to have a choice of 5 entrees as our main meal which for 2 people was quite filling. Loved the arancini and the eggplant croquettes, all topped off with an Italian white wine. The service was good, the prices very reasonable and it had...a lively atmosphere.More

We have been to Capital a number of times and it never lets us down. We visited on the weekend for an early family anniversary dinner with our 7 year old, they looked after us beautifully. I love the food, its uncomplicated and the staff...are divine. Has reminded me that this is one of our favs and to go more regularly.More

I come from a deprived wilderness town in Tasmania and appreciate so much the passion and quality of the food in Capital's menu. Panna cotta dessert superb.

It's nice to finally find an Italian restaurant that serves real, genuine Italian food! I cannot fault anything that we had. The restaurant was cosy (if a little loud) and nicely decorated. Best of all, food to die for! We had arancini balls for entree-...they absolutely melted in the mouth, absolutely gorgeous and infused with truffle oil. My only complaint here, and it is minor, the size could have been a little bigger, or 3 balls instead of 2, as I could've eaten both of them myself without sharing with hubby. However, when mains arrived I was glad for the lighter entree as it was hearty and filling. Beautiful, rich beef cheek ragu and the best gnocchi I've had- little pillows that just melted. We finished with dessert pizza and it was divine and a great size to share. It was just the two of us but could have served 3. It was the perfect thing for sweet tooths and Nutella lovers! Loved the inclusion of meringue and fresh berries. A perfect evening!More

We tend to avoid North Hobart because of the parking issues but we enjoyed a meal at this restaurant recently . The service was friendly and attentive. The meals were tasty and well presented. Pleasant eating space. I think this is one we'll go back...too.More

Capital was the perfect place for our mother & daughters dinner last night. The atmosphere was cheerful and warm. Service could not have been better. And the food was fabulous. Highly recommended.

Had dinner with the missus here. The food was delicious and the waitress was a lovely lass. We enjoyed the fettuccine and the calabrese pizza. Yum! I would come back.

I'm from the north west and travel to Hobart from time to time for weekend work. The Capital is always a great place for terrific Italian food. Usually we come here after taking in a movie at the State cinema 5 min walk away.

I found their service to be slow and we went to the counter to pay rather than keep on waiting for the bill.

Definitely vegetarian. The owners also have a vegetarian restaurant just a few steps down the road- The Veg Bar which has vegan options :)
