A cute little shop tucked away in Salamanca Place perfect for a quick coffee. Food can be a bit hit-and-miss with a small array of cakes and slices. Coffee and hot chocolate is nice enough, and service is usually quite fast. Limited seating, and a small shop area can create problems though.

We went to this small but trendy coffee shop in an arcade fronting Salamanca Place on a couple of occasions during our stay in Hobart. Once for breakfast and the other time was for lunch. The coffees were great ... as per our ordering ... as was the food. A great selection of "gluten free" options and service was friendly... More

Early one Monday morning, stopped by for a surprisingly excellent coffee in what I thought might be tea country. Heard from local experts, Tasmania had an influx of Italians right post WW2, and they brought along great coffee. Anyway Doc C serves up a lovely shot, complete with a tiny jug of cold milk on req. at a decent price... More

Visited Salamanca markets and stopped here for coffee and a pie. Coffee was good but the service was poor. We decided to sitdown to eat and there was no indication that there was an additional charge for table service. This was a table in an internal alleyway, not a 5 star restaurant. We ordered 2 pies that they forgot to... More

Had a terrible coffee at Salamanca markets so when I saw Doctor Coffee I thought here comes some redemption. Also decided that we should have breakfast. Terrible decision! Food was ordinary. Tasted bland, not fresh at all and just slapped together. It seemed like all the food was simply pre-heated there... If that's the case, why bother offering it up... More
