I used to work with Luke’s grandmother over forty years ago. She didn’t speak any English and I didn’t speak any Sicilian, but she made the best minestrone soup I have ever tasted. Luke doesn’t have minestrone on the menu, but he does serve the best risotto I’ve eaten. Most places make it far too salty for my taste. The Sicilian duck is stunning to say the least; I don’t usually enjoy fruit with my meat, but this dish was one of the best I’ve eaten.
While not everything I’ve eaten at Cultura has been stunning, I have never been even the tiniest bit disappointed. The waiter and waitress provide excellent service without servility and the prices are well below establishments providing lesser fare. Absolutely top notch on every count.

We're coeliacs and must have gluten-free food. The restaurant served us beautiful food that was delicious and did not make me sick in the slightest - no gluten contamination from preparation surfaces or cookware. Very happy. And the wait staff were attentive and helpful. An excellent meal and lovely Paxton wine to accompany it.

Delicious Italian Cooking in Hobart. Looking for coffee we were advised to go here for Hobart’s best coffee by a local and ended up going back for dinner. Luke and his team were fun and friendly and the kitchen served us two delicious pastas for entree and WA barramundi with crunchy potatoes and buttered greens in the side. We shared our main but couldn’t take a picture as we wanted to eat it immediately! Two tiramisu for dessert with one more flat white and a memorable and super tasty dinner in an unmissable Hobart eatery. Definitely be coming again next trip to Tasmania.

We were staying in Hobart and just passed the door and decided to see if I could make a booking four 4 people, it was a Saturday night so I thought I might be pushing my luck. I was greeted by very friendly staff and was informed I could get a table at 6-30pm. What a great atmosphere to start with and then came the food we all had starters which were excellent, I ordered Sicillian Duck which was the best duck I have tasted, cooked to perfection tender, tasty and not dry as some duck dishes can be.
My Wife had the market fish and again was cooked to perfection.
We have traveled extensively throughout Australia and the World and Cultura Restaurant was one of the best Italian Restaurants we have eaten in, not only the food was spectacular but the ambience and staff were great, would go there again when we are next in Hobart a very pleasant surprise. Well done to the Owner, Chef and staff.

First time Tassie traveller and upon last day of holiday-trip landed upon this beauty of a bar/restaurant. From the friendly waiter who served us (looking like the tired hikers we were sitting outside) came over with an enthusiastic smile and set us down with some menus and glasses poured (choice of sparkling or still.) and took orders for other drinks too. Coffee was superb but like many other reviewers is just one persons opinion. Upon feeling only slightly peckish I ordered the arancini balls (4 total) and wow was I blown away, presentation was stellar and topped my list of ‘best of’ in the business, compliments to the chef. Other friend ordered garlic bread and I couldn’t help myself nor stop thinking how amazing these two combos would go together; using the bread to soak up the remainder of the sauces is a great Italian trait. And thanks to the other staff member who graciously agreed with my opinion and was very thankful for the compliment towards the shop.

Looking for somewhere quick to eat & stumbled upon this unpretentious gem. Ordered the gnocchi carbonara & pizza arugula. Both dishes were very flavourful . Prices seemed on the slightly higher side for pizza & pasta however the quality justified the cost.

The restaurant was buzzing on the Saturday night we visited. Whilst the exterior doesn't look like much, we had a friendly greeting on arrival and good service all night. The Sicilian Duck was to die for, as was the Veal Scallopini, very tender with its lemon sauce. The Mushroom Risotto was enjoyed by one of our party of 4, the only miss was the Spaghetti Puttanesca. Wine prices were fair and an enjoyable night was had. Can be a bit noisy, so not the place for a romantic evening. Pizzas were also on the menu around the $25 mark.

We were here for a group dinner and we couldn't have asked for better service. The food of pasta and pizza was plentiful and tasty. Indeed it was not possible to eat all that we were given which for $ 35 a head was hard to believe. The wine was also of good quality and well priced and the knowledge of their Italian offerings was strong. The Pecorino Vellodoro $ 44 and Barbera Monferrato $49 were both tasty. I couldn't fit in dessert however the cheesecake was pronounced a winner. Great place to bring the family, indeed although this sounds cliched the place felt like family.

Good service, friendly staff, excellent menu with the option of gluten free. The food when delivered by an excellent waiter, was delicious I settled for the veal, gluten free, other’s had similar but not the gluten free variety. At the table some of the party wanted the garlic bread, its presentation was different, as are most restaurants, but still delicious. The drink menu costs are similar to most restaurants, not really over the top. The cost of the food, higher 30s lower 40s, but you are paying for quality. Would I go back YES.

We visited Culture while staying at the Crowne across the the road and both the food and service were faultless. The gnocchi Gorgonzola was the best I have ever had and the lasagna pizza and calzone were also exceptional. Giovanni and Dan were very attentive, knew their dishes well and entertained the whole family with a great sense of humour. Wanting to fly back soon from WA just to visit this amazing Italian restaurant again WOW!

Fantastic fresh and super delicious uncomplicated food in a world obsessed with complicating food. Fast but friendly service. The menu has plenty of options and choices, all our three courses were amazingly delicious- most of the ‘Italian’ restaurants on the mainland could learn alot from Cultura.

So glad we went here! An unassuming street frontage leads you into a perfect small restaurant. We were seated at a table near the bar and were able to observe the way the glasses were immaculately prepared . It’s a small thing but points to the pride this restaurant has in presentation. We started with the most delicious bruschetta I think I’ve ever had. The toasted bread was perfectly toasted on the outside and wonderfully soft on the inside allowing the flavour of the tomato topping to blend through. I had the ragu with fettuccine and it was so silky and flavoursome. The atmosphere was relaxing and energetic at the same time and the staff welcoming and professional. All in all a fabulous meal and we’ll definitely be back next time in Hobart

Visited Cultura for a casual mid-week dinner, as it was nice and close to my hotel. Ordered the pan seared calamari served on ciabatta with garlic, chilli, bitter leaves and balsamic as an entree and a fettuccine carbonara for the main. Both were delicious. Service was friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend for a quality Italian meal in Hobart!

We had a wonderful dining experience at Cultura. The food was delicious and all our complicated dietary requirements , which we noted when we booked, were looked after with a smile. Delightful wait staff and cosy, comfortable yet stylish surroundings. Will definitely go back when in Hobart again

Some friends, family and i booked a table of 5 for a late lunch at this Restaurant on the 31st of August 2024. 3 Adults, 2 Children. The place was under the pump from the get go however it seemed like the kitchen and staff were all well prepared to take us in.
The Kitchen serves primarily authentic Italian cuisine however they were able to cater for the kids, and adults, dietry requirements and preferances.
The food here was delicious, as were the mocktails, cocktails and desserts. The vibe was modern however the decor and pictures on the wall were a little more traditional - but that only added to the overall feel and warmth of the place.
An open kitchen kept the young ones entertained and it was great to see the staff preparing not just our own meals, but the other customers as well with equal gusto.. The lady and gentleman who served us were on point and we really felt that our needs were being attended to. The pricing was very reasonable considering the quality of the meals and serving size - so i totally hope to be back sometime soon in the near future.
Thank you Cultura for making the moment amongst friends and family a cherishable one!
