BEST EARL GREY TEA I HAVE HAD IN AUSTRALIA, just like home (well... nearly). I had the Heuvos al horno and apparently this contains chilli, I definitely couldn't taste any. Having said that this was delicious. Also very filling given the potion size. I didn't much enjoy the interior because it's in a sort of arcade, but it is nice... More

Have had breakfast here the last two mornings....fresh juice, yummy scrambled eggs, muesli, yogurt and freshly poached fruit over the days. Not too busy as it was midweek. All their cakes and muffins seem to be baked on sight and looked delicious. Pleasant staff with lots of local workers coming in for their daily coffees. In a spot where there... More

It may well be sunny, but step into the shade and you are quickly reminded you are 42 deg South Lat. Tricycle Cafe is just the place to escape the chill breeze. Inside the Salamanca building itself, they serve great coffee and breakfasts. This is my second trip here by cruise ship and as the cafe is just a 10... More

Be warned, we went on a Saturday morning, which was always bound to be busy because of the nearby extremely popular markets, but even so I thought they might be able to handle the volume better due to experiencing it every week. Maybe they were down a staff member this weekend, who knows, but while we were there the place... More

We have had breakfast twice here recently and really enjoyed the experience both times. My partner still raves about the scrambled eggs. The sprouted rye with goat cheese and heirloom tomatoes was sooooo good and the coffee is some of the best I have had in Hobart. My only complaint is the slightly offhand service.

Tricycle is notoriously overpriced, but I felt like treating myself to a hearty lunch and ordered a take away brown rice bowl for $20, advertised with rice, an egg, greens and pickled/fermented veggies. Sounded awesome, healthy and filling - as you'd hope for $20 when it's composed of mostly rice. 10 mins later it was ready, and I took my... More

Blink and you can miss this quiet little cafe off a sidelane away from the hustle and bustle of busy Salamanca Market. Great coffee and friendly staff. One can sometimes feel out of place from the regular clientele when visiting certain cafes, but The Tricycle's ambient atmosphere and pleasant staff made me feel welcome.

I brought my own 8oz 'keep cup' here for a take away refill. OK coffee, but I was charged $5.00. Hardly value for money.

Great little cafe tucked away in Salamanca Place ... coffee was great in lovely mugs (if you want large) and then I had soup and it was just beautiful. Very nice service BUT we didn't like the sound of the chairs on the floor , but I guess you cant have everything ... so I would rate it 8/10

Thank Jenny K
