We have had breakfast twice here recently and really enjoyed the experience both times. My partner still raves about the scrambled eggs. The sprouted rye with goat cheese and heirloom tomatoes was sooooo good and the coffee is some of the best I have had in Hobart. My only complaint is the slightly offhand service.

Tricycle is notoriously overpriced, but I felt like treating myself to a hearty lunch and ordered a take away brown rice bowl for $20, advertised with rice, an egg, greens and pickled/fermented veggies. Sounded awesome, healthy and filling - as you'd hope for $20 when it's composed of mostly rice. 10 mins later it was ready, and I took my... More

Blink and you can miss this quiet little cafe off a sidelane away from the hustle and bustle of busy Salamanca Market. Great coffee and friendly staff. One can sometimes feel out of place from the regular clientele when visiting certain cafes, but The Tricycle's ambient atmosphere and pleasant staff made me feel welcome.

I brought my own 8oz 'keep cup' here for a take away refill. OK coffee, but I was charged $5.00. Hardly value for money.

Great little cafe tucked away in Salamanca Place ... coffee was great in lovely mugs (if you want large) and then I had soup and it was just beautiful. Very nice service BUT we didn't like the sound of the chairs on the floor , but I guess you cant have everything ... so I would rate it 8/10

I settled on the small "stage" outside, enjoying a beer until other tables had read the specials board, since I'd seen a great baked eggs breakfast there the previous day when I'd already eaten The Brown rice bowl with coconut wallaby, fermented daikon and all the greens and yoghurt $22 sounded interesting and my friendly waiter went to check how... This place is tucked away down an alley near the entrance to the Peacock Theatre. The coffee is really good, juices are delicious and the breakfasts (especially the danish rye bread) and to die for. We pop in whenever we're in Hobart and it never disappoints.

This cafe is hidden away amoung the beautiful old convict built Salamanca Arts Centre. The staff are polite and accommodating. It has a private little area or you can be a little more exposed to the walkway that seperates to 'alleyways' of the Art Centre. The food is good and they offer a range of alternative options.

Went here with 3 friends for breakfast. The location and cafe was cute and the food was ok (menu had 5/6 items only), however the waitress seemed grumpy and didn't want to be there which definitely reflected in her attitude and service. Coffee guy seemed good.
